Summary of Qualifications

I have been employed in several different fields of service in my career. I have operated heavy equipment, worked as a correctional officer, Pipefitter, Piping foreman, Piping GF/Supervisor, safety professional, various positions in lumber mills, on the production side and working on maintenance team maintaining equipment, industrial plant maintenance pipefitter/boilermaker/operator/supervisor/manager, safety training coordinator, safety trainer, hazard recognitions and mitigation trainer/supervisor/facilitator, NCCER pipefitter trainer/instructor/proctor, NCCER rigging trainer/instructor/proctor as well as workforce development coordinator/supervisor/trainer/primary administrator, and as of most recent Workforce Development Manager.

Work History

April 2013 – Current: BCOI/Bechtel Corporation - BGC Deputy Workforce Development Manager; Safety Hazard Recognition and Mitigation training.

Currently, I am the Bechtel Global Corporation Deputy Workforce Development Manager. I oversee the department consisting of OG&C gulf coast site activities coordinating with each site’s construction management team in the needs of the project in manpower, training needs, and upskilling activities. I also travel frequently as a traveling trainer facilitating, training, and testing for infrastructure (telecoms), OG&C, and nuclear. I participate in developing and guiding others to move on to international works in mining and metals. In leading, facilitating and performing these activities, I am the NCCER primary administrator overseeing and performing the activities of NCCER work for the various projects. I have operated cranes and heavy equipment and rigged in this position. During my Bechtel Tenure I have diligently worked through the ranks from Pipefitter, Foreman, GF/Supervisor, Site Workforce Development Manager, to current position.

June 2012 – April 2013: Echo Maintenance Corporation, LLC. – Motiva CEP, Port Arthur, TX Maintenance Pipefitter and Maintenance Pipefitter Foreman

For Echo Maintenance Corporation I worked as a class A maintenance pipefitter. Multiple facets of work consisted of routine maintenance detail of various refinery components and piping systems, turnaround/shutdown piping work, capital projects replacing or adding piping systems to various units within the Motiva refinery.

I also worked as a piping foreman for the VPS 2 turnaround and OSBL overseeing the safety, quality, and production of the employees working under my purview.

April 2012: Performance Contractors, Inc. – Exxon Mobil, Beaumont, TX Turnaround Pipefitter Foreman

For Performance contractors I worked as a turnaround pipefitter foreman in the blinding, reworking as needed, and restoration of piping systems in the coke unit for a short-lived time frame of about two weeks.

August 2006 – April 2012: Bechtel/Becon Construction Company, Inc. – Motiva Crude Expansion Project Port Arthur, TX & SPLNG Project Cameron, La. Pipefitter Foreman

During this time, I worked as a pipefitter foreman overseeing the safety, quality, and production of the employees.

I also worked as an NCCER Pipefitting instructor/evaluator after hours and worked weekends performing evaluation certifications for the night shift employees.

March 2006 – July 2006: Turner Industries Group – Valero, Port Arthur, TX New Construction Class A Pipefitter

This project I worked as a class a pipefitter and lead man on piping systems for a refinery expansion.

January 2006 – March 2006: JE Merit – Huntsman Refinery, Nederland, TX Routine Maintenance / Capital Work: Class A Pipefitter

I worked as a routine maintenance and capital work class a pipefitter performing system checks and maintenance and various capital projects revamping or building additions to various areas of the refinery. I operated cranes and heavy equipment in this position as needed.

November 2005 - January 2006: Davis Timber – Core of Engineers, National Disaster Relief Hurricane Cleanup, Newton, TX and Beaumont, TX: Heavy Equipment Operator

In this specific endeavor I bought a bobcat front end loader and two dump trailers to work in the effort of clean up after the natural disaster of Hurricane Rita. I also worked for Davis Timber in operating dozers, track excavators and loaders in handling the debris and disposal of debris as part of the national disaster relief headed up by the core of engineers.

July 2005 – November 2005: TDCJ – Gibb Lewis Unit, Woodville, Texas Correctional Officer II

In an attempt, to leave the industry of refineries, construction work, refinery maintenance work and lumber mill production and maintenance, I worked for a short period of time as a correction officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In this experience I developed or increased my human relations skills and passion for people.

June 2003 – July 2005: JE Merit – Connoco Phillips paralubes, Westlake, Louisiana Routine Maintenance, turnaround/shut-down, Capital work Pipefitter-A class

I worked here as a pipefitter for various needs including fabrication, maintenance, installation, testing, and revamping of various piping systems throughout the Connoco Phillips refinery in Westlake, LA. I operated cranes and other heavy equipment in this position as needed.

March 2001 – September 2002: LOUISIANA PACIFIC – LP Plywood mill, Bon Wier, TX Forklift Operator, various production line positions, routine maintenance

In this position I worked in the production line, as an equipment operator, as a belt and chain mechanic (lumber mill millwright) and worked on much of the piping mechanical needs of the plant. Any of the piping systems needing to be maintained, replaced, reworked, rebuilt, etc., I worked as a pipefitter, rigger, and operator to work on these systems.

June 2000 – September 2000: TRES Machine Shop – Machinist Shop, Orange, TX Utility Worker

This short job was a very good experience for me. I worked to keep the shop clean and tidy and operated forklift, overhead crane, and hydraulic truck cranes as needed to load unload, assemble, and reassemble various pieces of equipment, vessels, pump, and motor assemblies. I also had the opportunity to work with some machinist on metal lathes and learn a little about milling parts for some of the pieces of equipment that I had become familiar with in my young career.

March 1995 – March 2000: Temple Inland – Lumber Mill, Dequincy, LA, Forklift operator, various production line positions, routine maintenance

I spent many years working from one end of the lumber mill to the other. I worked mostly with the mechanical division in the overall maintenance, care, and conditioning of the plant. I worked on everything from debarkers to bucking saws to forklifts. I worked as production line employee in the dry end of the mill for a while then went back to the maintenance division. During the maintenance work here I work with iron, rigging, equipment operations, millwright work, and did a lot of pipe work needs in the plant.
