My journey started in the traditional way as an Engineer in training and through hard work and utter determination I secured a Site Engineer role and currently hold a Junior Site Agent post. Early in my career I realized that teamwork and communication is critical in our field and putting this at the forefront, helped our teams achieve success and excelling at all we do. I consider myself fortunate as I was afforded the opportunity to work in both the private and public sectors and was able to experience and understand the different dynamics between both these symbiotic sectors. • Working with the earthworks foreman to effectively manage the bulk earthworks or earth moving material on site.
• Monitoring the earth moving equipment to ensure maximum production is achieved while still keeping to the safety requirements.
• Monitoring both the utilization and the diesel consumptions of the working plant machinery on site.
• Working alongside the concrete foreman to calculate, plan and effectively execute the work required.
• Working to the drawing specifications and calculating the material required for both ordering purposes and to ensure that there are no errors in the information given.
