I’ve always had the passion and self drive to work in a corporate office and Hollard Insurance offered me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and widen my scope of work during my time there. I was able to carry out numerous tasks on a daily basis with the aid of modern office equipment which helped to sharpen my skills, efficiency and I was able to familiarize myself with how tasks are executed in the corporate office. Some which includes listed below;
Attended to clients and assisted them with their needs.
Printed policy forms and filled them with the necessary client information.
Filed clients’ documents and kept them in their respective folders.
Maintain schedules and calendars, arrange and confirm appointments of MD
Receive incoming mails for MD and reply when authorized
Collect and submit all kinds of documents requiring MD’s approval

National Service presented me with another opportunity to further grow in the corporate world. I had the chance to work with one of the best transport companies in the country with world class staff who guided and took me under their wings to mentor. I was posted to work with the HR department which gave me the juncture to deal directly with the clients and also some of the employees of the company. I assisted the then HR officer in carrying out the day-to-day task in the office. Luckily for me I had on hands training experience because new equipment were being introduced to make work easier in the office. Some of the tasks I was assigned to carry out were as follows;
Type memos, query letters, reports etc. and distributed to the relevant staff
Assisted the company’s auditors in auditing various documents and waybills.
Worked closely with the HR Officer so most of my dealings were with the employees of the company. I assisted them in filling their annual leave forms, medical forms, employee exit forms etc.
Also saw to it that there was always an up to date number of employees on leave and at work.
Kept records and documents of employees on both their files and the computer.
Received and sent documents via emails to their respective departments for urgent approval.
Answered phone calls to assist both clients and employees with their respective needs. I also redirected phone calls meant for my supervisor and other relevant staff members.
