Job description as an Industrial Nurse
-Provide continuing engagement with site HR team, to ensure services meet the identified needs & Documentation of the following items in the clinic:
- Licenses, certificates, proof of capability to practice in the job scope assigned
- Training records
- Standard operating procedures, processes, practices
- Manage the appropriate level of site medical response; follow-up to assure development and maintenance of appropriate occupational health programs, processes and activities occurs which meet site, regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Engage in development and monitoring of site occupational health goals/objectives
- The Industrial Nurse will participate in training specific to site needs and requests
- The Industrial Nurse will assist to manage the First Aid program, if requested, including maintaining records, licensure, and audit and restocking of First Aid boxes, training, etc.
- Institute documented procedures, standing orders and emergency response protocols which are approved by the physician
- Medication management for administration, storage, release, inventory, destruction, and control of medication
- Dispensing of Over-the-counter drugs
- Document management for written procedures and processes such as treatment protocols, standing order, procedures, etc.
- Record management for medical records, medical confidentially, and release of health-related information according to regulatory requirements
- Bio-hazard and hazardous waste management, including storage and disposal
- Inventory and supplies
- Equipment maintenance, calibration, and operation
- The Industrial Nurse is responsible for assisting, coordinating, scheduling, follow-up, and review with the doctor.
- Implement a method to minimize/reduce exposure to blood and body fluids (blood-borne pathogens) and provide prompt medical follow-up should exposure occur.
-Data Management: Ensure all activities and documentation in all recording systems are in compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
-Work Injury management:
- Provide work injury and illness medical care as appropriate
- Industrial nurse must coordinate medical treatment report, medical escalation, Accident Reporting Procedure.
- Provide follow-up of accident/incident cases with team members; inquire on their health and well-being
- Accident/incident cases include First Aid treatment at on-site clinic
- Assist Safety Engineer in investigating the root cause of accident and how to prevent future recurrences
- Participate in audits as requested and required
- Conduct internal audits to ensure program compliance and quality practice
- Identify and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of occupational health programs and services
