• In 1995 obtained Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Hawaii.
• In 2009 achieved Master’s Degree in Psychology from Walden University.
• On January 24, 2019, Argosy University conferred me with a doctorate degree in Business and Leadership.
Summary of Supervisory Experience:
Worked in the mental health/social work for 20 years: I lead a team as a Program Director for Makaha Clubhouse working with the Severe Persistent Mentally Ill(SPMI) population using the Clubhouse model from 2011 to 2014.
• To improve the social and vocational functioning of adults with serious mental illness by providing a supportive community based on mutual needs, interests, and shared work.
• I was a member of the Waianae Rotary Club, engaging in community activities in the Waianae area promoting education and social awareness.
I led and trained others as Social Worker IV or HSP IV with the DOH, DHS, Counselor, and Case Manager from 2009 to 2011.
• Did assessments as a CPS investigator into child abuse/neglect cases
• Trained other case managers in the field
I was mentored and taught to lead others as a temporary Special Education teacher, Skills Trainer, Para- professional and Intensive Instructional Service Consultant (known as BISS today) from 2003 to 2006.
• I was trained as a skills trainer and then later began training others to become skills trainer when promoted to BISS or consultant.
• Taught 8th grade English to special needs students at Kawananakoa middle school. I also have experience with job readiness programs and networking with community and business organizations.
• I trained clients and on job readiness programs and linking them to the community resources and business organizations.
• My aim was to help find employment for youth and adult challenged with mental illness.These students or adult clients had various diagnoses and most had dual diagnosis. Duties included: helping students attain academic and behavioral goals.
The skills developed over time were: create treatment plans, counseling, crisis intervention, initiate outreach activities and find practical and useful resources for clients and their families. Work Experience:
* Clinical community based case manager working with adults who are homeless and challenged with mental illness for Institute for Human Services (I.H.S.). From February 25, 2019 to present.
* Clinical case manager working with adults with severe mental illness for North Shore Mental Health. From 6/18/18 to February 2019.
* Social Worker IV (Assessment worker for Child Welfare Services. From 5/1/18-6/18/18
* 13101 Intensive In-home therapist for CAMHD cases with Alaka’i Na Keiki; I also work as a BISS for DOE cases for Alaka’I Na Keiki. Date: October 14, 2014 to December 2017

Reason for leaving: In order to continue and meet the NCLB requirements, I would need to attend the accelerated Sped Rise program which was not possible with my family’s needs. Also, I decided to stay within the mental health field to work with adult clients as well as children.
*Worked as a waiter for Rainforest Café in Anaheim, California from December 2004 to November 2005; Moved back to Hawaii.
*Case-manager/Counselor at Hale Kipa; Dates: From Jan. 2004 to October 2004 Reason for leaving: relatives in California invited me to live there and I simultaneously took college courses in education and teaching foundation. I Returned to Honolulu in Dec. ’05.
*Autistic Consultant (AC) for Nursefinders: Dates January ’03 to April ’03. Reason for leaving: School-based behavioral health services announced the gradual replacement of ACs or newly hired Intensive Instructional Services Consultants
(IISCs) with DOE employees. I reconsidered options in order to sustain family needs.
*Skills Trainer for Alaka’i Na Keiki; Dates: From August ’02 to May ’03; Reason for leaving: I was offered a position with Nursefinders to work as an autism consultant.
*Intensive In-home Services for CARE HI; Dates: From July ’99 to July 02; Reason for leaving: 1997 RFP credentialing requirements modified the therapist level credentials from a Bachelor’s to a Master’s level which I did not have. I took a hiatus to reconsider my future options.
