POLICE COMMUNIATIONS OFFICER aka PCO1

Answer incoming emergency 911 calls and obtain pertain information which is typed up on a computer from the caller on the phone and decide what emergency help is needed. Then information is sent to the dispatcher who then dispatches first responders to the emergency call. We were cross trained to know how to work each position fluently to be able to switch up positions on a daily basis. We were also cross trained with the Shreveport Fire Department to be able to help the person on the line with a medical emergency.
