I am currently working at Clicks Pharmacy Fourways Gardens, I am a community service pharmacist under the leadership of Miss Langelihle Mabaso, the responsible pharmacist. I am mostly exposed to retail management; I am doing pharmacist duties as per scope of practice of a pharmacist. I perform all duties in accordance with Good Pharmacy Practice requirements and Clicks Pharmacy SOPs. I supervise pharmacist assistants. I do prescription reviews, sign off the accuracy in dispensing and provide patient counselling services. I manage controlled medicine (high alert, schedule 5 and 6) very well in the Pharmacy. I dispense medication prescribed by the doctors and over the counter medication according to GPP requirements using Unisolv system. I apply policies as required, doing follow ups on patient’s therapy to apply clinical and pharmacological knowledge to optimise treatment for the patients in order to achieve the goal of treatment.

Netcare Waterfall City Hospital Pharmacy - Midrand, Gauteng January 2020 to December 2020 (Fixed Term Contract) I worked at Netcare Waterfall City hospital as a Pharmacist Intern under supervision of pharmacists, the responsible pharmacist was Mrs Sapna Singh. My tutor was Miss Palesa Tshabalala. I got exposed to both retail pharmacy and hospital pharmacy. In retail pharmacy, I used to receive prescription for the patients walking in, dispense them using Unisolv according to Good Pharmacy Practice requirements and completed all three phases of dispensing under direct supervision of a pharmacist. In hospital pharmacy, I did most of the clinical activities pertaining to the scope of practice of a pharmacist under direct supervision of a clinical pharmacist. I would do patient case reviews in order to optimise pharmacotherapy for inpatients, dispense medication using SAP system for inpatient's prescriptions in accordance with SOP's and GPP requirements. I would also control drug utility in the hospital for all controlled medicine (S5 and 6) under direct supervision of a Pharmacist as amended in Medicine and Related Substance Act 101 of 1965.
