I perform a variety of duties involving basic accounting, budget/bookkeeping, and payroll regulations. I have a working knowledge of computer systems and programs such as Windows XP, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and extensive knowledge and experience using and interpreting accounting systems, policies and procedures. I employ my comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures and arithmetic computations to verify and maintain accurate accounting data while performing technical audit functions, and in assisting with development of accounting procedures. I apply these various accounting methods and techniques during the performance of my duties, i.e. collecting and issuing money bags, cash funds, and sub-custody receipts from Sales Associates/Cashiers, for the purpose of accurately accounting for these figures. I prepare, monitor, and maintain computerized accounts of movement of money bags and cash funds issued. I make change funds for cash registers, cash payroll checks, personal checks, government checks, travelers’ checks, and money orders for authorized patrons, ensuring that appropriate identification is provided. I verify names against "bad check" list and/or social security number before processing the payment of a personal check. I take delivery of monies received with daily cash reports for 100% accuracy. I prepare coversheet by register amount and register number with Daily Cash Report, as required. I operate package machines in connection with the counting and wrapping of coins and currency for change machines. During my time I have been appointed as the Safety Representative for the MCCS Finance Office. My responsibilities are to ensure that all employees adhere to the safety regulations and standards. Also, it is my responsibility to ensure that the safety equipment present is in good working order and is being used properly. I am also responsible for observing that safe work procedures are being followed. Verifying funds for 27 drawers and giving out change to the 27 drawers. Verify the safe in the office. Doing the daily deposit. Rolling coin for the coin star machine. Answering the phones and taking care of customer questions. Logging all information onto the computers.
