Project : IHG Portal (Apr-2018 - Present)

Role : QA Automation Engineer

IHG is the largest hotel company in the world measured by rooms. IHG has a web portal for hotel room booking, and working on “Room cost” module, this module is responsible for calculating final cost to consumers based on Seasonal discount, hotel amenities and other promo/voucher discount calculation and final price formula on the web portal.

Responsibilities:

• Writing test procedures, test cases and describing the purpose of the test, setup conditions, test conditions needed to produce the pass/fail criteria, and specific instructions on how to conduct the test.

• Involved in developing test plan covering functional and non-functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing and track defects in VSTS.

• Execute test cases and analyze results, and perform manual functional, regression, smoke, and back-end testing and provide test sign off and prepare test reports.

Being part of PDS (Parliamentary Digital Service) in the Houses of Parliament, worked on the Document Amendment System which is used for tracking documents starting from the day it was created till it is published, also documents having different categories and priorities. Documents are published on a daily basis and by marshalled list in PDF format which also has a different set of rules, style, and formatting. The key challenge was to minimize the regression testing time, perform manual test activity around the document amendment system and create an automation test suite for manual test cases.

Responsibilities:

• Conducted the Functional Requirements and User Requirements Specification reviews and walkthroughs with

designers, developers, and stakeholders.

• Created Detailed Test Plan, Test Approach, Test Matrix, Test Strategy documents based on the information gathered through business requirements and design/application walkthroughs.

• Worked in the Agile model, DevOps model, involved in sprint planning, preparing the bug reporting sheet at the end of the sprint.
