Counseling and work experience
Currently working as a case work assigned to the Arima Rehabilitation Centre, this facilities is a psychosocial rehabilitation center, my duties involve:
Monitor patients' progress, help them achieve their social integration goals
Assist individuals in their recovery
Assist patients adjust to inpatient rehabilitation setting
Individual and group counselling
Life skills training
As the only case work assigned to this facility I am also charged with the responsibility of planning of events, vocational skills training and transitional plan for our residents.
Post Grad Internship: Completed a supervised practicum that was a part of my post graduate program in counselling psychology, which consisted of one on one, group and family counseling session. Emphasis was on client assessment, individual and family illness insight, family support at the Carenarge Mental health and Wellness Centre. Completed program December 2017
Presently interning in the Employee Assistance Programme department of the North West Regional Health Authority. Training focused on assisting individuals’ behavioral and emotional issues, and to assist in improving their lives and tackled a range of issues such as relationship issues, trauma, domestic violence, work - life balance and crisis intervention. During my training I had the opportunity to conduct individual couple and family sessions, along with workshops and staff orientation presentations. Schedule to complete November 2018.
