Duties & Responsibilities

• Provision of advice and support to Site Management with regard to the implementation of the HSE requirements in relation to the Company, Client. Consultant and legal aspects relevant to the project.

• Ensuring that best practice in Health, Safety Environmental (HSE) is understood, acknowledged and implemented.

• Ensure that the site policies and procedures of other parties (e.g. Client, Consultant) are clearly understood, communicated to staff as required and implemented.

• Ensure that appropriate emergency arrangements are in place.

• Ensure that fire, first aid and emergency evacuation precautions are known by all persons and visitors and that they are available at all locations.

• Instruct, support and train Safety Inspectors in the application of Company HSE policies and procedures.

• Monitor Safety inspector’s performance and advise the HSEQ Manager where further support and training is required.

• Manage and deliver the site induction programmed.

• Ensure that project staff is aware of their HSE duties and responsibilities.

• Communicate effectively with the Project Manager to ensure that HSE concerns are understood, and that effective action is taken as necessary.

• Advise senior project staff where HSE improvements can be made.

• Ensure that site HSE records are produced and maintained in accordance with Company procedures and standards.
