As a registered dental hygienist, I deliver optimal clinical care based on collective data and scientific evidence. I implement treatment gently and proficiently comfortable to the patient to include but not limited to:

• Removing calculus deposits and extrinsic stains from teeth and beneath margin of gums using both hand instruments and ultrasonic.

• Performing prophylaxis in absence of periodontal disease or periodontal maintenance in patients with no/minimal active sites.

• Administer local anesthetic as needed in those patients undergoing scaling and root planing procedures.

•Prioritze patients’comfort levels by minimizing anxiety through remaining optimal at all times during the procedures.

I provide preventive adjuncts and educational methods for controlling oral disease which is individualized to the patient such as:

• Proper tooth-brushing and flossing techniques, plaque control, and dental product knowledge.

• Educate on the presence of xerostomia with the use of certain medications, and cavity prevention methods.

•Proper cleaning and storing instructions of removable appliances.

•Maintaining periodontal disease at home in collaboration with recommeded recall visits.

•Modifying techniques for patients with low dexterity, or those needing assistance from a caregiver.

• Counsel on proper nutrition and self-care programs such as smoke cessation and alcohol/substance abuse.

I diligently handle instruments and work areas in accordance with sterilization and disinfection protocols with other team members to prevent blood-borne diseases by:

• Complying with proper universal precautions and infection control procedures set by OSHA and CDC recommendations.

•Communicating and working with other team members to assure quality control logs are updated accordingly and equipment is tested in producing quality sterlization.

•Contributing to an atmosphere which encourages team work and co-worker healthy interrelations.
