Headquartered in The Nilgiris, the company was incorporated in 1949 as a subsidiary of a major British manufacturer of hand sewing needles, knitting pins and hard haberdashery products. Manufacturing commenced with the very simple gramophone needle.
I was principally responsible for building a full- scale sales operation from the ground up including database systems, recruitment of sales personnel and developing the sales and marketing strategies.
I was instrumental in developing the marketing campaign across the company’s product lines involving the entire spectrum of media platforms.
I was involved in every aspect of almost all the new product launches covering promotions, events, resource planning, logistics etc.
I was responsible for the preparation and execution of business plans for the whole company by managing a range of medium to large retail clients.
I was given the unique responsibility of marketing new line products in traditional retail channels of distribution.
