EMPLOYMENT PROFILE

The thirteen years spent in employment have been shared among a Multinational Company and an International Organization, viz; Anglogold Ashanti Limited and the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) (under the Millennium Challenge Account and the Government of Ghana Agreement ( the Ghana Compact)).

My career over the years has been the provision of Corporate Management Supportive services, involving HR/ Administration, Logistics, Laison, Project Management and Finance. This has enabled me to have an in-depth knowledge and experience in Corporate Management Administration and best Business Acumen as a “professional career builder”.

The current assignment as the Personal Assistant of the Chief Operating Officer at the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), ( the Accountable Entity for the Implementation of the Ghana Compact under the US Government-funded US$547m Millennium Challenge Account Program), has broadened my experience on Hands-on Administration, Project Management, Finance Management and its related Operations which has enhanced my appreciation for Finance, effective Management of relations between Donors and Governments, Public Private Partnership concept and Sector Organizations.

Millennium Development Authority (MiDA)

Position - Personal Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer – 2015 (Current)

Role Objective: Provide Operations Support (Project Management and Administrative) to the Office of the Chief Operating Officer with the aim of ensuring an effective and efficient implementation of the Ghana Compact Programme in accordance with the Programme Implementation Plan (PIA) and the Compact Agreement between USA (MCC) and the GoG (MiDA).

Tasks performed under Operations include:

Management of workflow and track ongoing projects / activities e.g. providing support in a form of quality controls in order to ensure that deliverables meet requirements.

Drafting of Operations Monthly Reports and the compilation of Quarterly and Annual Progress Reports for the entire organization.

Assist in the review and analysis of projects/ divisional budgets for Quarterly Disbursement Requests.

Assist in the preparation, appraisal and negotiation of projects / contracts.

Provision of Support in stakeholder Management Plans for Implementing Entities, GoG Agencies, Special Interest Groups etc.

Assist in the drafting of Request for Proposals (RfPs) and the evaluation of proposals.

Assist in Contract Administration & Management of Consultants and Contractors.

Involve in the measurement and reporting on project performance.

Tasks performed under Administration include:

Drafting of Operational Letters/ Correspondences.

Consolidation and Drafting Board Documents/ Papers for the MiDA Board’s Meeting

Drafting of briefs.

Provision of Administrative and Secretarial Support to the Joint Condition Precedent Committee set up by the Vice President of Ghana to oversee the ECG PSP Transaction

Review of proposals and all incoming correspondence.

Provision of summary papers/ documents such as Board Summaries for the COO.

Coordination of both local and international travels of the COO and other Senior Executives.

Coordination of office supplies.

Management of diary/ schedules of the Chief Operating Officer.

Drafting and management of both internal and external correspondences.

Preparation of presentations.

Minutes Management; Minutes taking, tracking and follow-ups of Senior Management Meetings; Management Meetings; Operations/ Projects Meetings, Meetings with Implementing Entities; Stakeholders etc.

Coordination of meetings/ conferences / Workshops

Booking of Hotel Accommodation / Hotel Conferencing Facilities etc

Other Supporting Roles at MiDA - Finance and Paralegal

I double as a Paralegal for the General Counsel at MiDA, managing and providing support to the Team with all administrative undertakings such as documentations Board Meetings, Event planning/ coordination, legal drafting, research, managing affiliations and other secretarial duties.

In the area of Finance, I assist in various forms viz:

Preparation of Tax Exemptions for Contractors and Consultants

Making of payments (cash/cheques) to various MiDA stakeholders and follow up on accounts/payments issues with our Bankers and the Bank of Ghana.

AngloGold Ashanti Limited (AGA)

Position: Human Resource / Staff Relations Supervisor 2011-2015

Role: Lead the Human Resource Management of the Gold Processing Division of the Mine; having oversight responsibility over all HR Matters. In charge of mine wide Travels / Logistics Coordination.

Tasks performed include:

Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process in order to ensure a timely organized and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff.

Together with line managers of, assess staff performance and provide coaching and guidelines to ensure efficiency.

Coordinate administrative procedures and devise ways to streamline the processes.

Liaise with sectional heads in the identification of human resource needs.

Coordinate interview and selection procedures

Assist line managers to understand and implement HR Policies and procedures.

Provide information and assistance to staff, supervisors and HODs on human resource and work related issues as well as identifying human resource needs.

Human Resource Planner for the Business Processing Framework System.

Administer staff attendance and transactions on the processing plant.

Editor and Publisher of the Monthly “Processing Plant Newsletter”.

Ensure smooth and adequate flow of information on plant to facilitate business operations through regular engagements with staff.

Administer line managers’ labour planning and examine short-term (quarterly) manpower needs;

Administer Employees’ Leave.

Reservations / Booking of Hotel Conferencing Facility and Accommodation

Administer the Planning of all Human Resource Activities for the Mine under the Business Processing Framework System.

Administer Employees’ Performance Appraisal.

Asses training needs of employees in consultation with Line Managers and organize appropriate training in collaboration with the training and development department.

Liaise with payroll to ensure smooth running and update of the payroll system.

Administer Human Resource Operational Letters e.g. Appointment Letters, Termination Letters, Promotion Letters, etc.

Maintenance of employees’ data through regular update, filing, retrieval, retention and storage.

Travel Coordinator

Communicate with travelers both local and expatriate staff to ensure convenient travel times.

Perform the same duties for accommodation, entertainment reservations and daily transportation within the destination city or Country.

Apply / Secure visas for employees on official / business travels.

Arrange out of station transport either road or air for employees on official assignment.

Coordinate the Company’s Charter Flight and other air transports

Expatriates’ Administrator

Administrator for Expatriate Staff; Condition of services; Immigration issues (Work Permits, Residence Permits, Visitors’ Extensions, Re-entry Permits etc.), flights, tours etc.

Maintenance of expatriates immigration records / data for regular updates

Administer Expatriates Leave

Contracts Administration

Provide extensive support to Divisional Heads in the Managements of External Contractors/ Consultants in various forms such as Contracts Negotiations, Project Management etc.

AngloGold Ashanti Ltd (Obuasi Mine)

Position: Personal Assistant to the Managing Director – 2011

Responsibilities Include:

Manage the diary and appointment of the MD

Draft and manage both internal and external correspondence

Organize both his internal and external travels as wells as other senior executives

Arrange corporate travel and meetings by developing itineraries and agendas; scheduling the corporate jet; booking other transportation; arranging lodging etc.

Manage the flow of information to members of the executive leadership team

Take minutes at Executive Committee Meetings (ExCo)

Format information for internal and external distribution.

AngloGold Ashanti Ltd - Ghana (Gold House, Accra)

Position: Corporate Affairs Assistant (Assistant to GM and V.P- Corporate Affairs) 2008-2010 - National Service Inclusive

Tasks performed include:

Assist in the Preparation of Presentations of all forms for the Vice President - Corporate Affairs and GM Public Affairs.

Assist in maintaining Anglogold Ashanti’s website through regular updates and website moderation.

Coordination of prints, broadcasts and new media advertising campaigns.

Assist in developing key (Political, Media etc) contacts & manage contacts database.

Initiate, develop and maintain good working relationships with media reporters, editors, and producers.

Design works for media adverts.

Coordinate media buys and reserves advertising space with appropriate media outlets.

Provide all forms of secretarial duties.

Assist with protocol duties such as, acquisition of VVIP Pass at the airport, Police Escort, organization of ceremonies etc.

Due to my hard work, loyalty, commitment and contribution towards work, I was transferred to the Obuasi Mine and was offered the role of a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer.
