ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Final Project in IT Project Management: created a project charter to setup a student computer lab with forty pcs and instructor PC and AV. Project included an organizational chart, task list, deliverables list, Pert chart, GANTT chart, risk list, PC checklist, communication plan, equipment cost list and a milestone sign-off. MS Visio, MS Project and MS Excel were used to complete this project.

Final Project in Intro to Networking: Designed a network using Cisco Packet Tracer to configure switches, routers and computers. Each device had to be configured correctly along with the pricing of the items used. Project was to be designed for a network that had fifteen employees.

Linux class project was creating my own script along with the listing of the twenty utility commands with their outputs. The project comprised of downloading a distribution’s ISO (Bodhi Linux) and installing it in a virtual machine. Created instructions on how to perform installation including the following creating directories, generating files in the terminal, making a script with nested decisions, constructing a looping script and executing it along with combining text files. A basic algorithm, flowchart and pseudocode were constructed to support the scripts created as well. Additionally Fedora was used with Bash shell to configure PSI variables and to navigate a file system. Perl was used to identify and use data types, sort information and set up HTML Web pages.

Virtualization course consisted of creation of clones, SCSI hard drives with allocating amount of memory, creating virtual hard disks using Hyper-V manager, compacting virtual hard disks, creating snapshots, configuring DHCP settings, configuring virtual switches with Virtual Switch Manager and setup of network adapters. Also installed Virtual PC 2007 and configured BIOS boot devices. Installed Windows Server 2012 along with Active Directory (AD), downloaded Microsoft Server Datacenter, created partitions, created NIC teaming, created a console with plug-ins, installed server roles, added new drives, installed users on server, created folders on partitions, generated shares via the Server Manager, mapped network drives, created shadow copies, set up scopes through the DHCP role, statically assigned IP address to server, set IP address range and lease duration.
