2000 Penned a pamphlet for mental health patients, successfully enabling them to overcome the stigma of receiving guidance for coping with mental health imbalances and encouraging care for mental health issues

Charter member of the South Madison Community Action Committee to ensure that band, choir, and sports remained available to South Madison students

1995-1996 Involved in editorial writing for the local paper, which incited a “standing room only” meeting with the South Madison School Board

Spoke on two occasions representing the SMCAC, providing education and research that substantiated the importance of band, choir, and sports being available to the South Madison Community School students

The SMCAC successfully continued to implement band, choir and sports, serving the South Madison Community School students

1987-1994 Directed grades 5 and 6, as well as grades 7 and 8

Starting with only 5 students the first year, within 3 years we enjoyed serving 89 students each week

Grades 5 and 6 met weekly during the school year at a nearby church, and in April they enjoyed a two day weekend at Camp Crosley in northern Indiana

1986-2004 The onset of each experience was very difficult and time-consuming, yet rewarding

Nine of these wonderful young women proved to be extraordinary individuals with a great love for children and ability to teach proficiently

These nine experiences were extremely rewarding
