Attended course in VOIP/Cisco IP Telephony.

Fundamentals of VOIP (Signaling, CIPT concept, Call Control Protocols, QoS)

Configuration and trouble shooting of Cisco Call Managers, Gateways, Unity Servers (Setup of telephony devices, voice interfaces, route plans, voicemail, call handlers)

01/00 – 03/03 Lucent Bell Labs: Digital Systems Techniques & Analysis Group, Holmdel, NJ

DSP engineer responsible for documenting, porting and testing DSP code.

Wrote detailed documentation of existing Lucent 16xx DSP code for voice enhancement products. These products include line echo canceller, acoustic echo control, noise reduction, and noise compensation as they are used in switches or Voice over Packet (VoP) gateways.

Ported voice enhancement algorithms from Lucent 16xx DSP code to fixed-point C code to achieve platform independent and bit-exact algorithm representation.

Tested bit exact C-code for echo canceller against ITU-T G.168 requirements.

Created test vectors for voice enhancement algorithms using fixed point C-code and verified performance of algorithms after they were ported to new DSP platforms.

Converted DSP code for DTMF and MF tone detectors from TI C54x platform to TI C55x platform. Reduced MIP count by taking advantage of improved instruction set of C55x family. Conducted regression tests and verified bit exactness with original code.

12/97 – 12/99 Lucent Bell Labs: Digital Systems Techniques & Analysis Group, Holmdel, NJ

Project leader for Echo feature team for the PVG (Packet Voice Gateway) product: Developed and documented test plan for the PVG echo canceller. Developed test scripts for the device driver group to test ECPR4 driver, TSI driver, and DSP driver of PVG. Evaluated performance of Echo Canceller ASIC ECPR4 and ECPR5 according to ITU standard G.168. The tests were conducted using Matlab, GLCOM T1 cards, and a laptop with docking station. Issued modification reports (MRs) into Sablime Database and followed up with the fixes.

Tested PVG-IP: provisioned ECPR4 chip using Cadenza II GUI; performed IP call setup using SARAS soft switch; conducted G.168 tests, performed subjective tests for IP calls using phones, hybrids, T1 test set and HP test set (CERJAC); tested loop back capability, continuity test, announcements, and tone generator; tested comfort noise and silence suppression on a per call basis using MATLAB scripts.

Tested PVG-ATM under various software loads: evaluated two way echo cancellation using subjective and objective testing; tested protection switching functionality of ECPLIs; tested Active-Active functionality of SCs; prepared Demo for two way echo cancellation over PVG-ATM.

Completely assembled and tested PVG-IP (T1 and E1) frame for delivery to Docomo in Japan

Collected facts from several individuals and documents and completely revised factory test plan for PVG system (SC, ECPLI, DSPLI, ACE); conducted diagnostic tests and thereby collected and documented software parts which are compatible to each other; trained associates in the Merrimack Valley factory in conducting diagnostic tests and the associated trouble shooting.

02/97 – 11/97 AT&T Contractor, DSPA Group, AT&T Labs, Holmdel, NJ

Designed objective tests for evaluation of tone disabler of Line Echo Canceller. Developed test vectors to determine frequency sensitivity of tone disabler. Output signals were evaluated using Matlab.

Designed tests to determine quantization distortion of AT&T Network Echo Canceller, TrueVoice, and SoundScan.

03/96 - 01/97 AT&T Contractor, BCS-CDIS Group, AT&T, Middletown, NJ

Developed and executed software system tests on AT&T Customer Data Information Systems (CDIS). AT&T planned to use CDIS for billing, servicing and provisioning of telephone lines.

Tested CDIS software for maintenance of customer database entries. Tested functions include adding, modifying and disconnecting access of local customers to the 4ESS Switch.

04/95-02/96 AT&T Contractor, CONNECTVU-ATP Group, AT&T Bell Labs, Middletown, NJ

Developed software on CONNECTVU-ATP, an AT&T Network Systems product for telecommunications configuration management. This software manages switch configuration databases, sophisticated user interfaces including expert systems and workflow management functions. It also offers users a variety of relational database capabilities, including network-wide queries, reports, and batch changes.

Used C/UNIX and Informix 4GL, SQL, and ESQL/C to build new and maintain existing telecommunications switch support software. Used the following systems and tools: HP-UX 9.04, Solaris 2.4, Informix 5.04 and 7.1, Sablime (an SCCS-based source code control system form AT&T), and Korn shell.

08/94 - 04/95 Member of Technical Staff, TIRKS System Test Group, Bellcore, Piscataway, NJ

Created a user-friendly menu-driven system for regression testing of TIRKS (Trunk Information Record Keeping System). The program shows the status of the test cases and allows the user to print a specified report during the regression testing process. This was developed using Informix SQL, C, and Korn shell in a SunOS 4.1.x environment.

Responsible for all metrics tools and release tracking software, including daily reports and analysis of test tracking reports. Used Korn shell, C, Informix SQL.

06/94 - 08/94 Programmer, Circuit Development Group, Bellcore, Piscataway, NJ
