As a mechanical engineer for Smoke Guard, I designed smoke and fire curtains for buildings so that they could meet building code. I also designed manufacturing tools as needed. I’m an expert in SolidWorks and used FEA as needed. I attended seminars to stay current on the most recent changes to SolidWorks. I led weekly engineering change meetings (ECO) to make sure all engineering changes were made correctly, and the projects moved forward without delays. I was the CAD administrator for product data management (PDM). As part of this responsibility, I streamlined the process to ensure PDM processes flowed more efficiently. I was responsible for making sure my designs followed UL standards and I was part of the team to make sure all the products passed UL certification. I was a critical team member of several teams that created new products which were adopted into the current product line.

01/2001-11/2006

As a mechanical engineer for ISR, I designed liquid cooling solutions for high end computer systems to fit into standard 19” racks. I mainly worked on commercial projects but also worked on several military projects. I used SolidWorks as my primary software with FEA as needed. I was a critical team member on several projects that were designed for commercial and military use.

As well as getting my bachelor’s degrees in both mechanical and metallurgical engineering, I was a lab assistant and a math tutor.
