Work History

March 2020 to August 2020 – Outside Plant Engineer for Finley Engineering

Duties included: Staking for outside plant pole line, burial, and fiber optic

Infrastructure. Identified NESC infractions and requested for make ready,

right of way, and pole change outs, to appropriate power companies.

Requested for highway department permits to appropriate highway department

offices. Familiar with RUS codes for outside plant material and procedures.

Drew all staking on existing prints and gathered 911 addresses for

residences and businesses. All staking was for FTTH, or fiber to the home,

facilities.

September 2019 to March 2020 – Project Manager for Metronet.

Duties included: • Interface with multiple departments to gather data, update, tracking, and drive timelines. • Run routine reporting related to company performance related to new market launch • Follow and develop new standards for data analytics and reporting in the organization • Work with department managers to understand potential key metrics, partner with the department to develop appropriate reporting.

June 2018 to August 2019 – Superintendent of Outside Plant for Ledcor

Technical Service.

Responsible for the hiring, equipping, supplying, and activation of the first

ever in-house crews for the KY Wired project. Trained two five men crews on

performing make ready work, placing strand and fiber, how to read engineering

and, most importantly, safety procedures affiliated with the industry and on the

project. Responsible for equipping each lineman with the appropriate tools,

ensuring each lineman has appropriate training, and all the paperwork and duties

in keeping daily operations running smoothly. Responsible for conducting

weekly tailgate safety meetings and ensuring they were documented with the

appropriate document control personnel. Conducted onboarding process for all

new hires joining my teams. Managed and directed crew’s locations for the

entire state of Kentucky. Conducted the invention of two aerial crews in June of

2018 and are currently operating smoothly and safely with the birthing of two

additional crews since the initial activation. To date we have performed make

ready work on hundreds of poles as well as constructed many miles of fiber

optics all across the entire state of Kentucky without any safety infractions.

January 2018 to June 2019 – Outside Plant Technician for AT&T.

Completed outside plant technician training in Nashville, TN. in January

of 2018. Performed aerial cable construction/maintenance on OSP facilities

out of the Frankfort, KY. office. Additionally, performed pole line

maintenance and pole line construction. This job was categorized as a temporary

job, therefore, I was looking for employment constantly while employed here.

December 2005 to July 2017- Outside Plant Manager/Project Manager for Birch

Communications.

Responsible for the construction, maintenance, and engineering of all Outside

Plant facilities for Birch Communications. Specialties are in aerial cable

construction, pole line construction, and splicing of fiber optic cable.

Responsible for the training, personnel administration, and logistics, for a five

man construction/maintenance crew. Have experience with a Fujikara 50s

fusion splicer, as well as, most OTDR testing equipment. Have a current CDL

class B for operating line trucks, bucket trucks, etc. Responsible for overseeing

all Outside Plant Engineering for SouthEast Telephone Company. Responsible

for maintaining all records, maps, and schematics for all Outside Plant facilities

across the state of Kentucky. Experience with several types of mapping software

especially, Microsoft Streets and Trips. Certified Fiber Optic Technician through

the Fiber Optic Association.

August 2003 to December 2005- Correctional Officer for the Federal Bureau

of Prisons.

Hired at USP Big Sandy on August 25, 2003, as a Correctional Officer. Successfully completed the Institution Familiarization Course administered by United States Penitentiary, Big Sandy. Successfully completed the Bureau of Prisons Basic Course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. Duties as a Correctional Officer are to effectively supervise inmates by using good communications skills and firm leadership techniques. Security, accurate accountability, and safety of inmates and staff, are the most important duties performed as a Correctional Officer. Stood most high-profile posts in correctional custody throughout the Institution in a competent, consistent, and professional manner. Selected as a member of the Special Operations Response Team in February of 2005. The Special Operations Response Team is an elite team specializing in weapons and tactics. The Special Operations Response Team is highly trained to respond, assist, and control any emergency situations throughout the institution. Being a member of the Special Operations Response Team is an extra curricular duty.

1994 to 2006- Staff Sergeant/E-6, United States Marine Corps Reserve.

Served as the Communications Chief for A Company, 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, Charleston, WVA. Duties included providing radio and telephone communications in a combat environment, maintaining proper maintenance on all radio and telephone equipment, and ensuring appropriate personnel are trained on all communications equipment. In addition, serving as the HQ Platoon Commander. Responsible for the training, morale, accountability, administration, and logistics for a 32-man Platoon. Also, have served with Military Police Company A, Lexington, KY, as the Communications Chief. Cross-trained in Military Police procedures, administration, and tactics. Awards include: Good Conduct Medal (second award), Navy Achievement Medal (second award), National Defense Medal (second award), Arctic Service Ribbon, Marine Rifle Expert, and Marine Pistol Sharpshooter.

1992 to 2003- Telephone Installation/Repair Lineman and Outside Plant Supervisor for Coalfields Telephone Company.

Responsible for installation and repair of business and residential telephone service. Experienced in telephone cable splicing and fiber optic cable splicing. Experienced in installation and repair of 56K, DSL, and T-1 data circuits. Promoted to Outside Plant Supervisor in June of 1998. Responsible for installation and repair of residential and business telephone service with an eight-man service crew serving 8000 customers in three different exchanges. Provided leadership and instruction for an 8-man service crew as well as keeping the service crew properly supplied with appropriate tools and equipment. Collateral duties included Warehouse Manager and Safety Coordinator. As Warehouse Manager, responsibilities were ordering material, shipping and receiving, and maintaining an accurate running inventory of all material entering and leaving the warehouse. As Safety Coordinator, responsibilities were conducting safety meetings and training sessions, ensuring all personnel had appropriate safety equipment, instructing personnel on how to use safety equipment, and maintaining Public Service Commission and OSHA standards. Experienced in proper pole climbing techniques, telephone cable trouble-shooting methods, and in using most types of line testing equipment. Experienced with most Central Office equipment in the areas of Programming, Cross Connects, and Punch Down Panels. Served five years of honorable active duty service. Trained with 8th Marines Regimental Landing Team, an elite special operations capable, military combat training unit dedicated to amphibious operations. Unit training included non-combatant evacuation operations, raids, and embassy security missions. Duties included ensuring constant communications between all subordinate units by radio and telephone, trouble shooting and maintenance of all radio/telephone equipment, and reporting status of all subordinate units to the Regimental Commander. Selected by the Battalion Commander to work as the Communications Material Systems Clerk and granted an Interim Top-Secret Security Clearance. Duties included receiving, handling, organizing, and destroying classified documents, including Top Secret Materials. Reported the status of all battalion classified materials to the Director of Communications Security Material Systems in Washington D.C. Promoted to the position of Vault Chief for Third Battalion, Tenth Marines. Ensured daily security for all classified material in vault. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of daily events. Organized the training and work schedules for a 10-man unit. Performed routine counseling to ensure quality performance of all subordinates.
