a. Switching from an assembly line based model to a cell based model b. Implementing KanBan, JIT, Continuous Improvement, ISO 9000 and other efficiency systems c. Reducing the warehouse space by over 70%, with a matching increase in production space d. Reducing the unit breakeven point from several hundred to as few as five units for some part numbers

e. Reducing unscheduled machine downtime to less than 2% 2. While at FASCO I headed up several projects, including a. Designing and beginning implementation of an improved plant lighting system. The new system virtually eliminated shadows at work top height, provided true color recognition, reduced employee eyestrain and lowered electrical cost. b. Developing a systematic approach to documenting the electrical system for the factory. This lead to reduced downtime, a safer work environment, reduced electrical usage, reduced time in troubleshooting and repair, and reduced the need for the purchase of redundant equipment. c. Standardizing the use of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to one manufacturer and a few select models. This allowed the company to significantly reduce the needed spares, reduce machine downtime, and allowed in-house maintenance staff to complete needed programming changes and repairs that formerly were handled by outside contractors or technicians from the supplier. This significantly reduced unplanned demands on the budget. d. Implemented a training program to teach the maintenance staff and manufacturing engineering team installation, programming and repair of the PLCs and related systems. ADDITIONAL
