ACADEMIC PROJECTS

CLEMSON UNIVERSITY

DESIGN OF 5-STORY WOOD FRAME BUILDING OVER CONCRETE PODIUM Feb 2017 - May 2017 1. Created the framing layout using AutoCAD and identified the column, beam, shear wall, chords and collectors in the building based on the given building plan.

2. Calculated the loads applied on various components based on ASCE 7-10 in MS Excel and imported it to Mathcad. 3. Analyzed and designed the elements for the calculated loads based on NDS 2015 and IBC Manual in Mathcad. STUDY OF HUMAN INDUCED VIBRATIONS ON CLEMSON MEMORIAL STADIUM Aug 2016 - Dec 2016 1. Targeted the vibration serviceability issues and the dynamic response of the stadium during a football match, while the stadium is filled with enthusiastic fans.

2. Investigated the dynamic loading induced by the people on the stands and identified many case studies and incidents which prove that: it is a major criterion to be considered while designing a stadium, especially with such large crowd capacity.

3. Generated a finite element model (FEM) of the stadium; this FEM was built in SAP 2000. Carried out dynamic loading and analysis to demonstrate the exact issues faced due to vibration serviceability. DESIGN OF PILED-RAFT FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT TALL WIND TURBINE IN CLAYEY SOIL Aug 2016 - Nov 2016 1. Designed a pile-raft foundation that has sufficient bearing capacity and could effectively resist the vertical settlement and differential settlement within allowable limits caused due to the weight of wind turbine, the concrete piles and overturning moment caused due to the external wind pressure. 2. Gained an understanding of the behavior of pile-raft foundation compared to pile foundation and raft foundation on the poor soil using both PLAXIS 2D and GROUP software

BEHAVIOR OF SHALLOW FOUNDATION UNDER EXTREME HYDRO-LOGICAL EVENTS Aug 2016 - Oct 2016 1. Investigated the rainfall-induced settlement of a shallow foundation on an unsaturated soil by varying the degree of saturation by using the PLAXIS software.

2. Quantified the influence of rainfall on the matric suction and consequently the settlement of a continuous foundation. DESIGN OF STEEL ROOF FOR A TWO-STORY CONCRETE TILT-UP INDUSTRIAL BUILDING May 2016 - July 2016 1. Dead, live, seismic, wind and snow loads were calculated for a two-story industrial building was calculated as per ASCE 7-10 using Mathcad.

2. Conducted diaphragm analysis, load paths calculations and designed roof and floor system using MS Excel spreadsheet. 3. Steel joists and girders were selected based on governing LRFD load combination using AISC Steel Design Manual and final design and analysis was done in MS EXCEL.

COMMERCIAL BUILDING COST ESTIMATION AND PROJECT CONTROL Feb 2016 - May 2016 1. Submittal of a detailed estimate for each construction division, excluding those subcontracted. 2. The estimate consists of a division-by-division (Latest CSI Master Format Divisions) breakdown of project costs for the distributed project drawings.

3. The estimate contains a cost code for each line item, a description, and quantity, unit used, along with labour, material, and equipment costs using On Screen take off.

PSG COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY

PROJECT PLANNING AND BASE LINE SCHEDULING FOR A LANDFILL CONSTRUCTION May 2015 - July 2015 1. Ensure timely creation and maintenance of project schedules. 2. Effectively preparing & monitoring the detail Master time schedule (MTS) in Primavera in L4 L5 level with resource allocation for EPC project.

3. Established S-curves for each phase of project from Primavera using resource (Like Man Hour) and quantities for Projects.

4. Actively produced weekly & monthly progress reports, list of pending deliverables, 3 weeks look ahead schedule, Float Report Data and highlighted all active issues.

5. Validation of schedule. Update and evaluation of project schedules on bi-weekly basis. Review and update contractor updates for scheduling and resource usage.

6. Establish project budgets from proposal estimate, track actual costs and committed costs, and forecast remaining costs for engineering, construction, and equipment procurement. PLANNING, MODELLING, ANALYSIS, AND DESIGN OF FIVE STAR HOTEL Aug 2014 - May 2015 1. Planning of the building was done incorporating universal design standards and keeping in view the functional aspect and space requirements of a five-star hotel.

2. Site plan, building plan, building section and elevation, reinforcement detailing, building components detailing were drafted and detailed using AutoCAD and 3D modelling of Hotel was done using REVIT Architecture 3. The reinforced concrete building was analyzed for gravity and lateral loads using STAAD Pro and using the analysis results from STAAD Pro the final design was carried out using LSD Method in MS-EXCEL.
