Jan 2020 to present: Integrated Asset Modelling, Artificial Intelligence - AI and applied machine learning.

Main tasks are:

To apply supervised machine learning techniques to both simulation and Integrated Asset Model (IAM).

To evaluate IAM covering reservoir – well – manifold – pipeline – pump – process - terminal for the whole system and equipment to define and resolve weak points.

To figure out bottlenecks, back pressure and shut down plan impacts in current assets.

To calculate economic efficiency based on coupling models for either shutdown or upgrading equipment consideration.

To build up IAM between subsurface reservoir simulation and surface network in RESOLVE software for all offshore fields both brand new (green) and developed (brown) fields.

To compare Pipesim surface model with constructed model from scratch in General Allocation Production - GAP by open server with AI supervised approach.

To identify main uncertainties influencing reservoir performance or surface equipment by studying fit-for-purpose models for sensitivity analysis; Request additional data acquisition to mitigate uncertainties.

To review novel technical service suppliers; Suggest advanced methodologies and algorithmic supports for real field application.

To speed up IAM model run efficiency and improve result accuracy.

2018 – 2020: Reservoir management

Main tasks are:

To utilize reservoir management standards and guidelines to enhance net present value and hydrocarbon recovery with lowest CAPEX and OPEX.

To optimize production and injection rate at significant cost saving.

To prepare monthly technical oil rate for full field and voidage replacement ratio.

To co-operate and monitor technical oil production rate to achieve approved targets.

To manage water injection rate including monitoring injection loss and performance, and mitigating production impacts.

To create reservoir surveillance schedules and interpret collected data such as pressure buildup tests, pressure fall-off tests, production logging tools.

To guide and oversight best in class reservoir management tenets and state of art technologies for all reservoir hydrocarbon assets.

To prioritize drilling rig activities for maximized value across multi-reservoirs in monthly update.

2014 – 2018: Full field development and optimization plan

Main tasks are:

To grow high offtake oil rate for the whole reservoir of many well types (mono-bore, trilateral and fishbone); combine multiple completions (open hole, perforated liner, inflow control device and inflow control valve) with swing logic and open-on-demand drilling schedules.

To investigate and develop strategies for higher oil production rate; set up criteria related to reservoir development and operational goals; recommend and validate simulation running efforts.

To initiate and design redevelopment strategy for the entire field from Five spots to Line drive systems by converting producer to injector and narrow well spacing gaps.

To exploit and create special case for field development plan featuring Dual Lateral Monobore conversion.

To invent hybrid case of Trilateral - Fishbone and Monobore conversion of Line drive well system.

To formulate reservoir development, data acquisition, strategic surveillance and monitor masterplans to ensure optimal development and depletion programs.

To build sector models and run prediction for well completion details designed for Inflow Control Devices and Inflow Control Valves, workover and horizontal sidetrack; and reduce uncertainties through sensitivity parameters.

To review water alternative gas approach in pilot area and supply Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) for enhanced oil recovery (EOR)

Achievements:

oFirst of its kind redevelopment and doubling of oil production rate of a matured super giant field (brown field of 50 years production).

2011 – 2014: History matching and converting simulation models from commercial software to in-house application

Main tasks are:

To conduct history matching, transition and prediction for full field numerical reservoir simulation models.

To generate single-well, element and sector models by extracting some areas or cross sections from full field models for fit-for-purpose investigation.

To carry out field development optimization and sub - surface and surface constraints.

To design production and injection network for full field to maximize the contact between well and reservoir.

To assess reservoir development proposals by conducting development optimization studies using various numerical reservoir simulation models; Propose technical specifications for new requirements on wells and surface facilities.

To convert full field simulation models from Eclipse to ExxonMobil In-house software.

To revert full field models from in-house software to Schlumberger Intersect software for simulation engine comparison.

To provide consistent results of hundred-year history and prediction for the two above mentioned software based on AI application.

To participate in integrated reservoir characterization studies related to reservoir engineering, geological model, petrophysics, seismic and prepare relative permeability – capillary pressure (Kr-Pc) modeling based on rock-typing scheme and laboratory data.

To carry out fluid characterization studies and prepare back pressure volume and temperature - PVT and Equation of State (EoS).
