If any natural disaster likes cyclone, flood, earthquake, drought, landslide volcanic eruption etc. strike very frequently and cause devastating impact on human life, economy, and environment. Employing appropriate management system and developing early warning strategies can avoid all this.

In this project by proper implementing remote sensing technology, through which it is possible to find out information of any object without being physical contact to it .top sheet of scale 1:50,000for cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu has been taken. From the administrative point of view the district map contain district, subdivision, tehsil, panchayat union boundaries along with the location of the villages, road, railways, rivers, forest, and reservoir are being made for digitization in R2V software. This is ready for data analysis, query, and visual presentation and reporting. If any disaster like earthquake take place in that area can be studied and before assessment of damage which will help for decision maker to take proper decision and planning for relief

Chief Responsibilities

Identifying the property location on the topography map and determining the flood hazard to the property by placing it on FIRM.

Map Digitization after converting maps into digital format, and to bring their maps into GIS environment so that these maps can further be used with satellite data.

Defining the property boundaries and its proximity to flood affected areas using tax maps and other map overlays.

Reviewed and developed the GUI of cuddalore district (in Map Objects and VB)

Achievement/Projects :Independently handled the responsibility of interacting with the district collector of cuddalore district, for handling the pilot project for updating the digital flood layer for NIC New Delhi.
