Roles & Responsibilities

Welding & Planning:

Preparation of operation sequence for Pressure parts like Water Wall Panels, Economizer Coils, Super-Heater Coils, Re-Heater Coils, Headers, Integral Piping and BOP Piping

Calculating routing Man Hours for budgeted man hour monitoring and control.

Welding Consumable estimation, indent for each work order with respect to welding process applicable, availabilities & customer requirements.

Monitoring & Controlling of Welding Consumable budget

Identify & approval of vendors for the welding consumables

Welding consumables testing & review of test certificates as per codes & standards (ASME)

Study of the manufacturing drawings and prepare Weld Schedule – welding process, electrode, Preheat & PWHT to be adopted for a weld joint.

Preparation of preliminary WPS, Co-ordination for Conducting Procedure Qualification Test, record

& witness the variables used, coordinate for the required mechanical tests, prepare PQR and authenticate it. After successful completion of PQR, prepare Welding Procedure Specification as per the relevant code.

Identifying & Selection of skilled welders and implementing them in risky areas to avoid nil defects.

Organizing & conducting Welding related Classes for Line Supervisors, Welders & Operators to minimize the defect percentage

Ensure all activities are carried out as per standard operating procedures, Systems & Project specification.

Training and making the subcontractors Engineers/Supervisors aware about job requirements and schedule.

Effective Welding surveillance and process monitoring.

Review of sub – contractors WPS & PQR as per relevant codes. Production:

Overall responsible for the products manufactured in Header Shop

Based on L3 schedule – Prepare L4 schedule for production

Ensure the products are manufactured in accordance with quality & delivery requirements

Organizing resource (Men, Material, Machine & Tools) for Header shop

Conducting weekly meeting with Team Leaders, Sub Contractors to resolve queries

Assigning responsibilities to Team leaders

Reports to the management about the production progress, developments & progress.

Maintaining good working culture, safety standards & 5S management in shop floor area. Technical Skills

Completed Training Program on Welding technology, Basic Metallurgy, Destructive & Non – destructive Testing. (Certified by AIMS NDE INTL)

Personal (Welding Engineer) qualification as per ASME

Completed Training Program on National level Advance Automotive Technology & Service Techniques workshop.
