Phd in Molecular and Cell Biology, Co-directed thesis 2013-present
(Strasbourg University, France and Saint-Joseph’s University, Lebanon) Description of thesis project:
My Phd project aims to gain a better understanding of the functioning of NF-kB type signaling cascades involved in the innate immune response in Drosophila. I studied in vivo and in vitro the role of candidate genes in these signaling cascades and characterized their functions. Studies have shown a great similarity between NF-kB cascades in Drosophila and mammals. The identification of potential mammalian orthologs will thus allow the study of the conservation of the immune function of these genes during evolution. The results obtained will facilitate the implementation of effective strategies to control their activation, particularly in the case of infectious and inflammatory diseases.
