Planned paper machine routine outages scheduled on eight week intervals. Develop the operational tasks and work with Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation, Lubrication maintenance groups, and vendors to efficiently execute outages for reliable operation between outages. This also included working with the operation crews to review lockouts ahead of the outage and address issues prior to outage days.
Planned annual outage for Paper Mill area including shutdown sequencing, tank dumping, operational daily tasks, and start sequencing. This is a coordinated effort across all departments to shutdown effectively, minimizing dumping to limit impact on environmental systems, and starting up to consume steam and pulp. Major capital and systems that are only shut down annually are serviced during this time to ensure reliable operations for the following year.

Supported mill initiative to increase kappa from 81 to 89 increasing the pulp production rate that RB7 can support. This involved kappa trials, analyzing and presenting data, and making kappa target recommendations.
Daily troubleshooting process to optimize production and reliability.
Performed equipment inspections during annual outages. This includes the lime kiln, boilers, and tanks.

Developed and delivered Process Safety Management training to all Pulp Mill production and maintenance employees that perform duties in and around the turpentine storage area.
Ran trials on bark hogging to determine impact to power boiler efficiency. Determined that the bark was negatively impacting boiler efficiency and worked to find alternative options around handling the bark.
