Improved product delivery by organizing in-refinery test runs of crude distillation column. Rated pump/lines and replaced a constraining control valve in Conoco Lake Charles refinery.

Simulated and sized process equipment including strippers, cold/hot separators of hydrotreaters, pumps, and heat exchangers with updates to PFD & P&ID's of refinery units.

Re-designed existing reformate stabilizer tower with heat integration of reactor effluents. Reviewed tray hydraulics and marked PFD/P&ID's for revamp & demolition.

Developed P&ID and PFD of revamp projects of BP (Cherry Point), Chevron (Hawaiian) and CONOCO (Lake Charles) refineries including reformers and FCC feed preparation units.

OIL & GAS PROJECTS

Projected cost savings of over 3 million dollars by reviewing design options of a new Glycol dehydration unit of Sirt Oil Company of Libya. Developed Hysys simulation models for several oil&gas gathering networks feeding a central processing facility and LNG plants.

Coordinated as process lead & principal engineer for detailed engineering design of Rosneft (Russian) grassroots oil production facility. Developed P&ID/PFD and hydraulic analysis of gathering lines with inter-disciplinary functions resolving process & production issues.

Analyzed gas gathering and compressors network of Chevron Picence gas field resulting in millions of dollars savings in field development costs.

Supported World Bank funding of multi-million dollars gas compression project by integrated simulation of reservoir, well tubing, and gathering network of Sui gas field in Pakistan.

Contributed to Pre-FEED design of green and brown fields of Abu Dhabi Oil Company for P&ID, design philosophies and simulation reviews in Denver, USA.

LED retrofit/capacity expansion projects of water treatment and injection facility for BP oil wells at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.

PIPELINE

Completed engineering design of a crude oil pipeline as engineering manager for Dubai based Iraqi engineering company. Saved the company over quarter million dollars on HAZOP studies.

Managed a team of multi-disciplinary engineers including mechanical, civil, electrical, and pipeline engineers for on-schedule delivery of several pipeline design and construction dossiers.

Analyzed and dynamically simulated pressuring/de-pressuring of miscible and gas injection pipelines for well pads operating under Arctic conditions of Alaska.

PLANT START-UP & OPERATION

Wrote operating manuals in Tokyo for several process units of a Kuwaiti refinery upgrade

project including Alkylation, MTBE, LPG Treating, and Shell ADIP regeneration units.

Documented details on process upsets, pre-commissioning/commissioning, until start-up/shutdown, and trouble-shoot procedures.

Coordinated with UOP/IFP on resolving different process and plant start-up issues.

Compiled operating manuals for Bangkok Refinery Deep Gas Oil De-sulphurizer, Fuel Gas Treatment, and Sour Water Stripping units while coordinating with Foster Wheeler and IFP.

Teamed up with a new refinery start up group assigned to crude distillation unit in National Refinery, Karachi, Pakistan.

PROCESS ENGINEERING DESIGN

Conceptualized NGL recovery worth millions of dollars in added product revenue as a result of improving front end design of ABB for crude oil processing and gas injection facility of Anadarko.

Applied UOP licensed technology and specialized plant design procedures for PRV sizing and relief load estimation, and process equipment design of hydrotreaters and hydrocrackers.

Established design basis for pressure vessels, pumps, compressors and instrumentation for Hydrotreaters and Hydrocrackers units of various refineries
