Responsible for staff scheduling, call/ holiday rotation and vacation approval for the Cardio Thoracic department .
Responsible for aiding in the design and creation of the Cardio Thoracic program for Mercy Regional Medical Center in 2002.
Responsible for constructing custom packs, ordering surgical instrumentation, suture and surgical supplies.
Work directly with Sales Representatives to order and maintain implants, specialty trays and any outside education
equipment.
Analyzed departmental documents for appropriate distribution and filing. Worked directly with critical care departments, CVOR team, the physicans and management to achieve a cohesive high standard of care for our patients.
When not needed in the Cardio Thoracic service area, I work in the general surgery area. I maintain expert knowledge in General, OB/GYN, Plastics, Dental, ENT, Peripheral Vascular, Podiatry, Cystoscopy, Gastroenterology and some Orthopedics.
General responsibilities are creating and maintaining electronic procedure cards, pulling cases, scrubbing and second assisting on surgical procedures, proper tear down and decontamination, assisting in sterile processing and second circulating as needed.

Worked directly with the surgical team to become and expert in the following surgical specialties: Eye/Cataract, Peripheral Vascular, Neurology, General, Urology, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, ENT, Plastics, OB/GYN, Gastroenterology and Cardio Thoracic.
Fulfilled Call requirements.
Assisted in set up of the Cesarean section operating suite. Education of OB personnel for Cesarean Section procedure, Aseptic technique, scrubbing and gowning/gloving, table setup, instrument identification, handling and patient draping. Researched and updated all required materials needed for surgical preference cards. General responsibilities were pulling cases, scrubbing, second assisting/ circulating case, proper tear down and decontamination of instrumentation, surgical suite turnover, sterile processing, wrapping and sterilization of instrumentation.
In 1999, I traveled to University Hospital, Main Campus, Cleveland for a six month fellowship in Cardio Thoracic surgery.
During the last two years of employment Providence and University Hospitals started the Open Heart Program. I was promoted to Cardio Thoracic CST and maintained that position until the hospital closed. 1987
