Shin Etsu Silicones of America

Utilities Operator/ P Tech

Duties included operation of the bio pond for the plant. Took water samples from boiler system, incoming River water, outgoing outfall to River gong to Dow, maintained levels in the thickener, clarifier. Insured flock is with in normal specs. Maintained chemicals to all areas of utilities, such as cl2, Hilconox, sand to river water filters, JW tank, boiler system.

Training as a batch operator in 100, 200, 300 units. Maintain levels in all systems by adding sodium E as needed, make TPP batches, load dryers and sca. Grab samples and run samples to the lab, insure they are run in the automatic GC’S or manual inject in manual GC’S. Report the results to board operator. Insured all pressures on all equipment were within range, insured all rupture disc are intact and have not failed in 100, 200 300 areas and tank farm storage also.

Bechtel Construction ( Cheniere Liquification Project)

Boilermaker/ Millwright Helper 3rd class

Helped install vessels, motors, pumps, valves, Control rooms, MCC’S. Vessels included 250 ton accumulator, dryers, Fans, Also was assigned to a welder 50% of the time as a welders helper/ pusher. Insured welding machine was gassed, oiled up, leads ready for welder to strike an arc. Ground all areas needed prior to welding. Reported what was done to supervision at the end of every shift.

2015 – 2016

Sabbatical

Took some absence of leave to look after father during a period of serious illness. Father has now recovered and I am immediately available and actively looking for a long term permanent opportunity. I have demonstrated superb tenure and loyalty throughout my career to date.

FINISHING OPERATOR

Plant 7 as a Finishing operator inside and outside.

Duties included DCS operation, Inside, outside operator, duties included extruder operations (2 Extruders), Batch maker for both trains, Tank farmers and hopper car loader. Duties included shutting down of pellet and transfer blowers as needed, Type changes as directed, spc chart, labeling and entering of lot numbers with correct hopper car and sending hopper car samples to lab for cert. Monitoring fluff system and informing Reactor of any changes on rates. Kept optimum rates on all equipment.

March 2000 - June 2007

Reactor Operator

Reactor operator inside and outside, for the propylene unit.

Duties included Console operations (DCS TDC 3000, Honeywell). Duties included plant operation of 3 Slurry loop Reactor and all associated equipment, Teal system, Donor system, coolant system, Kill system, steam system, cooling tower, all compressors (Nitrogen, C3, Lp recycle), several columns ( C6, C2 splitter, Recycle, Recovery, degas), all propylene dryers and gas phase dryers. Glycol system and fresh pumps and feed pumps (7 sundyne pumps total). From here I would make type changes as needed, start stop any piece of equipment as needed for maintenance, or emergency shutdown if needed. From here we would direct the maintenance. Crew to the right operator. We also kept spc chart in order and made adjustments as needed.

As an outside operator, duties included reactor structure and Purification. Esom rounds were made by the Purification and reactor operator at the start of the shift and any time after lunch on all rotating equipment again, then downloaded to esom app on our computer. We had 2 outside operators, puro and reactors. Familiar with SAP, Word, Star Limms, Lotto, And Emergency shutdowns.

August 1996 - February 2000

Chemical Operator

Polypropylene finishing. Here my duties of responsibilities were 4 extruders (train 1, 2, 3, 4). This included batch making, using blender to mix additives, 4 cone tanks, 3 Ferrel continuous mixers and 1 high speed blender. Also had a peroxide tank we used as needed and filled when needed. We also switched production tanks when a lot was complete. Maintained oil levels on all machines, made sure steam and condensate were in order, kept up with the hot oil to our dies on extruder, up to temp. We entered lab results on spc charts and make adjustments as needed.

September 1991 – August 1996

Distribution Attendant

As an attendant, duties included, Bagging and boxing, railcar loader for all Units (K-resin, Polyethylene 6 & 7. Propylene). As a loader insured lot number and railcar number were entered into lab computer, also sent 4 samples (1 per compartment) to lab for certification. Boxing, made sure labels were made and put on two sides of each box. Bagging, we made sure that the jet printer would label every bag from that lot and stacked on pallets, shrink wrapped and stored in the warehouse.
