Safety Engineer

I provide first line safety coverage on construction activities performed in project sites. Control and monitor the safety of work activities with the aim of preventing incidents. Provide advice to the general workforce on safe practices and safe operating procedures and systems.

Principal Duties

Facilitating Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis and Permits to work issuing.

Inspecting all contract equipment and ensure compliance to all HSE and Statutory regulations.

Participating in all Security Incidents Investigation and recommended counteractive measures.

Ensure adequate fire and safety equipment is available at the worksite.

Conducting regular workplace HSE inspections and reporting their findings.

Monitoring the condition of all firefighting equipment and lifesaving appliances and performing Training to personnel on these items.

Ensuring gas monitoring (for any entry into a confined space, or, during operations in an area with a potential hazardous atmosphere is conducted.

Ensuring a fire/safety watch is present during any hazardous operation or task performed.
