DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct daily risk assessments on all activities: Excavations, Reinforcing, Concreting, Backfilling, Tower assembly, Tower erection, existing power lines & roads

Conduct and document daily toolbox talks on associated risks pertaining to the different activities.

Review and update the risk assessments of all operations.

Ensure all teams have all relevant documentation on the work site: Daily risk assessments, daily toolbox talk, vehicle checklists, plant & machinery checklists, medical certificates for climbers, inspection checklists for safety harnesses, inspection registers for all lifting equipment, appointment letters for Supervisors, SHE Reps, First Aiders and operators.

Ensure all employees are trained on the applicable Method Statements (Standard Operating Procedures) of their work activity.

Document all communication with regard to, but not limited to training, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments

Ensure the compliance to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 as amended.

Conduct evacuation drills per departments to ensure employees are familiar what to do in the event of an emergency.
