Description:

Software configuration management is a set of engineering procedures for tracking and documenting software throughout its life cycle, to ensure that all changes are recorded and the current state of software is known and reproducible.

We were managing the ANZ Bank Mainframe Development Life Cycle. The ANZ can be categorised as a large site with over 400,000 elements including nearly 74,000,000 lines of code being managed.

Endevor is a strategic tool, which represents logical extension of change management. The use of Endevor is required by Audit, used to ensure the quality and integrity of software configuration management on the mainframe.

Description:

Product Services and Regulations Division is a project of the AIG (American International Group) Engagement. It is part of the General Systems Group (GSG) of AIG. PSRD deals with Workers' Compensation Claims and Policies. Workers' Compensation is the coverage required by state law to provide compensation to employees who are injured on the job, regardless of employer negligence. AIG is obligated to furnish NCCI and the state bureaus details of Workers' Compensation claims. Bureau reporting is a statutory requirement and needs to be done on time; otherwise huge fines are levied against the insurance company.

The Vendor Loss Processing (VLP) is a monthly and Quarterly booking system. VLP is the system that provides regulatory level booking information to the Sub ledger, General ledger and Schedule reporting. The inputs to the system are the ITD (inception to date) Claim information from various vendors once a month. The system is a reasonably large system and crucial system for booking purposes. The key users are RMG and Actuaries.

Providing more accurate and detailed information (I.e. department, class, item, vendor, and location) will increase market shares as well as provide additional leverage with our Vendors. This is purely development project.
