Company: First Quantum Minerals Zambia (Kalumbila Minerals Limited)

Position: Artisan Mechanic

Duration: June 2012 to date

Responsibilities:

Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of diesel engines and related components:

-Adjust engine valves at specific intervals to maintain peak performance

-Complete preventative maintenance programs on Diesel engines

Troubleshoot and repair Fuel systems:

-Replace injection pumps,injectors,transfer pumps, and lines that are faulty

Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems:

-Relieve pressure using pressure gauges, flow meter testing and pumps

-Repair hydraulic components such as pumps, valves and cylinders

Troubleshoot and repair diesel engine cooling systems:

-Radiator,water pump, head gasket replacement, and coolant changes

Troubleshoot and repair of Brake systems:

- Complete machine service, lubrication and maintenance

-Assemble and complete pre-delivery inspections of new equipment and attachments.

-Load and unload new and used machinery and equipment.

Carry out daily inspections on Heavy Mobile equipment

Carry out scheduled OEM maintenance on all Diesel Machines

Use of measuring instruments for precision such as Vernier callipers, Micrometre screw gauge, Dial edge indicator, Wrenches, Pressure gauge etc.

Under carriage/ suspension repairs

Help train new workers in performing equipment inspection and preventive maintenance

Ensure that all task s are carried out in line with company H&S procedures and advisories

I perform risk assessments, safe systems of work and permits to work

Awareness and application of Company’s safety standards
