Job Profile: Responsible for Design Engineering (DE) and Supply Management & Vendor Development (SMVD) of Generator (Rotating & Stationary components) in Hydro Power Plant.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Project Review meeting with internal & external customer.

Floating enquiries and identifying & developing a reliable Vendor source for achieving cost effective purchase of equipment, accessories, material with timely delivery so as to minimize project cost.

Responsible for on time dispatches from supplier’s end. Releasing Purchase order domestic and international in accordance with requirement on weekly/Monthly basis.

Leading a team of buyer experts to manage the electrical and mechanical commodity with effective negotiation and bringing benefit for the organization

Responsible for Cost out, Continuous improvement, Product Localization, Supply base development from Emerging markets.

Obtaining On-Time Delivery of materials against purchase orders to meet contractual deadlines.

Preparation of 3D-CAD Modeling & Engineering Drawings in accordance to appropriate norms viz. national & international standards like ASME, ISO, IS, IEC, EN & DIN etc.

Preparation of Bill of Material (E-BOM) in SAP tool.

Design Review & Interface check with Cross-functional teams

Handling issues related to Product manufacturing at shop & co-ordination and support to site teams during erection of Generator at site.

Resolution of ECN (Engg. change notification) by doing Root cause analysis. Major achievements:

Involved in developing rate contract of Fabrication items like Stator, Bearing and Brackets, Rotor Hub, Tools and accessories etc.

Worked as Supplier Relationship Manager (SRM) of Generator components in many Hydro Projects like NTMR, Nikachhu and NN1E

Successfully performed Basic Engineering of Bearings & Brackets in many projects & conducted Design Review Meetings with Global Team

Detail Engineering of Generator components like Bearing & Bracket, Stator Frame, and thrust block, shaft, Rotor Hub & Rotor Rim, Air guide & Covers etc.
