SUMMARY

I have over 22 years of experience in programming and application software development. I have worked with simple report modifications to complex database modifications as well as on-line applications development and modifications. I have worked in Purchasing, GL, Educational, Inventory and other areas of industry.

I have developed MS Access databases for the Cincinnati VFW that also linked to downloaded National Excel file to identify info discrepancies therefore allowing

the quartermaster to send updates to National Headquarters.

I have also worked in the movie theater industry as cashier, concession, usher, booth (projectionist). As Booth and Assistant Manager for Danbarry Cinemas for nearly 6 months and as General Manager or Assistant Manager for Chandler Theater Company. I have also worked recently for Harkins Theaters as an Assistant Manager and was in charge at my theater for the creation and upkeep of Excel programs and their macros.

Converted RBASE for Dos to RBASE 2000 Windows version. Modified existing Application programs and Entry/Exit Procedures to handle new command structures due to “Windowing” process. Utilized Forms, Reports, Labels, Tables and View designers as well as SQL command line code. Used windows “DOS” commands to allow long file name usage and batch renaming of JPG’s (10 char name.JPG). Developed Menu process for all groups with security setup. Created tools to help maintain, unload & load Tables, Forms, etc. Provided transfer programs to move data from old system to new.

Lexis Nexus: July 1998 – December 1999

Worked on the Key wording System Project, which is an online information and records keeping system for the company's medical and legal clients. Created an assembler program, Macro and Datasets to produce a storage block of SGML tags, Translation values and concatenation rules used by the keyword module. Modified the keyword programs to correctly process SGML documents and produce keywords and highlight markers. Provided a list and count for the first 100 SGML tags not processed for later addition to the dataset used by the macro program. Modified the verification programs to process SGML documents. Using Xpediter, discovered processing problems with various programs and corrected those assigned to me and provided information to others for their work on correcting problems. Used IBM's OS/MVS, Assembler, PL1, and Pascal languages. Full life cycle development, from setting up test data, finding the program, doing testing and documentation.

GRE Insurance: February 1998 - July 1998

Worked on the Y2K upgrade of the marine claims system. Collected all the appropriate resources needed for testing. Did software modifications to IDMS/ADSO and cobol programs. Made sure all systems we were responsible for were Y2K compliant via windowing and field enlargement. 50% Batch, 50% Online, used OS/MVS, TSO, Roscoe, IDMS, Sorts, IDCAMS and Utilities.

Date expansions and enhancements to Cellular Billing System.Y2K compliance testing. Used online cobol and batch IMS.

RL Polk: August 1995 - October 1997

Enhanced and wrote Assembler and PL1 programs for an information provider. Developed program for Texas data input that required scanning a 200 byte block of data (4 lines of 50) that contained jumbled name or trust name, address, city, state and zip code information. Parsing of data segments was dependent on 2 or more blanks and possible line position. Segments had to be matched against street tables, numeric format tests and name tables to ensure correct identification. Trust names often were carried into lines 3, 4 and 5 even having date fall between state and zip code. Modified other state programs due to changes in layouts, term usage, abbreviations, etc.

Developed COBOL and Easytrieve programs relating to data assessment and interfile.

Used CA, IDMS General Ledger system to produce various G/L

reports. Converted from old IBM G/L system to CA, IDMS system.

using Computer Associates IDMS, ADSO and related software.

Great American Insurance: February 1994 - August 1994

Helped staff split and test production PROCS. Helped claims group split VSAM files and wrote DB2 programs to selectively off load related tables and rebuild those tables into another system.

Heekin Can: January 1988 - February 1994

Worked with Computer Associates manufacturing software (BOM, CPR, etc.). Enhanced Purchasing process so home office went from 15 PO's per worker per day with 5 in error to over 50 PO's per worker and only 5 in error per week. Provided enhancements and corrections to online and batch IDMS code. Provided Buyers with online and batch reports that reduced work per plant from 1 day for each plant to 15 min of online work per plant. Interfaced IDMS database to prior batch production MRP/cost system. Added new modules to both systems when required.

Made enhancements and restructures to financial system using IDMS, Adso, Adsa and other CA tools. Corrected and enhanced Commercial Aviation Field Service Reporting System online and batch cobol programs. Created New Service Bulletin System and tied it into Commercial Aviation Field Service System.
