WORK EXPERIENCE

Head Designer/ Merchandser

Beyond Harmony - Los Angeles County, CA - November 2015 to Present Designer/ Merchandiser

Designing a collection of Missy/Contemporary

Woman's clothing.

Head Designer

BLUPRINT CLOTHING CORPORATION - Vernon, CA - January 2003 to August 2015 Hired to design a line of "ITY" prints for Tops, Tunics & Dresses. Upon given this creative challenge to create the line that was to the expectations of the principals of the company & research the trends in prints &new trending body shapes.

I sampled the most beautiful prints in the seasons colors from all the best fabric designers & reliable textile companies.

The principals were very happy with the results & took the line to the First New York Market. The market was saturated with ITY prints; which was the direction they wanted me to go in; the buyers wanted something else; they had enough of that category.

I received the call from the sales representatives the first day of the show~~"What can you do quickly; for this market?"

Overnight I embellished all of the solid ITY bodies" the very first samples that were for myself & my patternmaker to correct before cutting the new body in the actual sampled yardage. Thank God I kept them for our reference" I emblished the solid ITY pieces with the latest trims & sent them to the New York market!

It was a success; ️

The buyers loved them, buying lots of colors & styles. I was then told "Lisa" for the next market do what you feel ~~~don't listen to us! Now I had the "freedom" to create "My Dream"come true line & so I introduced a line of embellished sublimated art including t-shirts, tunics, sweaters, dresses, jackets and loungewear. The Line was a success & very exciting; we grew tremendously & very quickly.. Sublimation became the number 1 income for

Bluprint in the very beginning ~~~

Within the years designing successfully in the market, We added to the division a line of garment dyes with novelty treatments, different washes, silk screens, foils, embroideries and embellishments, including novelty knit cottons, rayon jersey, stripes, mixing with contrast fabrics and appliqués. In First year we created an income of 20 million producing & shipping domestically; we continued increasing revenues extraordinarily quickly & begin producing 80% of the production overseas..we moved to bigger headquarters; & begin having trunk shows with Belks, Dillard's, Macy's, Christopher & Banks, Steinmart, etc. We opened "Chicos"account & that became a major focus doing product development; 10,000 piece order always with 3 different tops per delivery which was included in their packages every month. Very exciting & challenging designing into their collections tops that worked into each grouping.. We then started doing Plus sizes for Avenue, Dress Barn, Lane Bryant, etc.. Head Designer

First Designing Job after graduating Fashion school was with "La Belle Fashion" •August 1985 through November 1999•

LABELLE FASHION, INC.

Head designer

Hired on as designer from my graduating fashion show and display at the California Mart. Very excited becoming a Designer straight out of school! Started the line straight out of fashion school, learning as we grew along with five principals: one patternmaker, sample maker and one sales representative.

Contempo was the first store to pickup the line. After that it was history and everyone bought the line and we became number one vendor for Major Department stores & Specialty chains Stores and catalogues started doing major advertising with us. We took it to the next step and started advertised in the following media outlets such as billboards, kiosks as well as trunk shows. I was given the freedom to pick the theme, the location, models, photographers, make-up artists, clothing, etc. Major stores begin asking us if we could reduce some of the best selling bodies into children's sizing. That's how our children's division (Just Kidding) was borne. After that we began Maternity with Pea in the Pod & others along with plus sizes, petite, missy, etc. I was in charge of hiring assistants to help me with the workload to perfect efficiency in all areas. Traveled to New York markets to help if the sales representatives needed me and be present for buyers if they wanted to do any additions or adjustments to the line as well as shopping the fabric vendors and the stores for new emerging trends, etc.

Traveled to Europe for forecasting the new seasons, color direction and trend details. Started a Bridge/Designer line that was very well received. Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lillie Rubin and Ames picked up the line first..
