Animal Science Internship Fall 2015 – July 2016
Duties include: Assisting in gathering cattle, feeding and watering, worming, setting out mineral, moving from summer to winter pasture. I also participated in the sorting and taking to the sale. I have learned to preg check cows, as well as read body language and notice signs of illness. Other duties included repairing fence, fixing waterers, and other general maintenance practices.
Riley Equine Center Spring - Fall 2015
Duties include: assisting riders in tacking and mounting horses, grooming horses, working with physically and mentally disabled riders therapeutically, keeping horses in condition for all riders, aiding instructors in larger lesson classes, leading horses for handicapped riders, side walking with horse and rider to prevent rider injury or fall, and working to ensure that each rider enjoyed their lesson.

Duties include: making appointments for the congresswoman, taking and returning constituents’ phone calls, organizing events for the congresswoman, entering data into computer systems, and aiding in accurate representation of the congresswoman.

Travel around the county meeting with producers learning of their feed needs and how our store can better benefit and accommodate them.
Assess livestock for producers, then advise on feeds to improve growth in a timely manner.
Place feed orders through the store to ensure full stock of feed is available to customers.
Weigh trucks and test grain for moisture and toxin levels applying the proper dockage if it so requires; sometimes in excess of ten trucks at once.
Ensure that customers receive a pleasant experience each time they enter the store and that they are always provided with a knowledgeable answer to questions. Sometimes this means going above and beyond the normal call of duty to ensure that person is provided excellent customer service.
