I am an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed engineer, registered as a graduate engineer with engineer’s board of Kenya (EBK), with eight years of proven track record of machine installation and maintenance, Facilities maintenance, Design and fabrication, construction and project management. Duties

oProvided preliminary and detailed designs for of new proposed projects, facility modifications and upgrades

oGenerated detailed bill of quantities (B.O.Q), estimated project budget, daily work schedules, manpower requirements and supervision of the projects to completion.

oEnsured cost control by ensuring budget set and timelines set were met.

oCoordinated and prepared tender documents for tender documents. This also involved valuation of tenders and awarding to contractors.

oInspected works assigned to external contractors to ensure it meets expectations as indicated in the scope of works.

oAssigned and scheduled work to meet deadlines and ensured priority areas were first addressed.

Successfully oversaw and delivered over ten major projects with over 5M shillings budget awarded to external contractors.

Increased overall work efficiency by 33% by introducing a system of remuneration based on skill set and time worked.

Assisted the company to save money by introducing casual labourers paid on a daily rate. This enabled reduction of total wage payable.

Duties

oKept machines operational by coordinating maintenance planning and repair service in line with set of instructions to keep machine reliability high.

oAnalyzed all machine failures and implemented corrective measures. Where re-occurrence occurred, root cause analysis (RCA) was undertaken and recommendations implemented.

oDeveloped, scheduled and assigned work on preventive maintenance programs for all machines and equipment to ensure continuous production process.

oPrepared, stored and updated mechanical equipment drawings using AUTOCAD software.

oProvided technical data relating to product and processes during machine acquisition and commissioning.

oSpearheaded the implementation of capital projects by preparing detailed work schedules and ensured that all materials and manpower met approved standards.

oPlanned, developed and implemented new standard of operations (S.O.P’s) for overall mechanical works strategy designed to improve operations and minimize costs.

Initiated several energy saving projects that enabled saving Boiler fuel oil by 2-5%.

Facilitated the opening of 13 new Yana tire centers from 2013 to 2015.

Reduced maintenance budget by around 10M through sourcing for spare parts from alternative suppliers in China and India rather than original equipment manufacturer.

Through innovation I was able to keep several obsolete machines running even though original spares had long been out of production.

Exceed company’s requirement to train two workers per year. From 2013 to 2017 I was able to train more than 50 casuals on acceptable engineering practices.
