Vice President of Finance/ Chief Financial Officer

I reported to the CEO and was in charge of all aspects of finance for this large non-profit organization. As the CFO I produced all financial statements, led the annual audit, managed all accounting functions, conducted all financial planning and analysis, managed the 401k and company benefits, led risk management, and managed the company’s endowment. I also handled all daily monitoring of cash flows, managed the Treasury function and led presentations to various board committees. Major accomplishments included:

Improved the audit and 990 tax return production by 150%+, which were behind schedule when I started. This included removing all pre-existing audit deficiencies;

Improved productivity by 200% by transitioning Payroll from in-house to outsourced production (ADP);

Developed a rolling 18-month cash flow forecast to allow better planning of disbursements;

Successfully applied/received CARES Act PPP forgivable loan, enabling to company to survive during COVID-19

Added all musicians to 401k eligibility for the first time in the Symphony’s history;

Improved Board financial reporting and analysis to allow more succinct and pinpointed comprehension.

THE COCA-COLA COMPANY, Atlanta, GA 2001-2018

Group Director of Finance, Coca-Cola Foodservice, U.S., 2012-2018

Served as ‘CFO’ over a transformational foodservice innovation and new segment of business branded ‘Coca-Cola Freestyle’. This new touch-screen dispensing innovation utilized micro-dosing technology to allow consumers to choose from 150+ combinations of brands/ soft drinks. In this role I:

Took this major innovation from its original ideation stage to ultimate market commercialization, acting as CFO with oversight of all finance/accounting activities including business case development, market commercialization, sales performance management, capital planning, P&L management, revenue growth management (product and equipment pricing) and controls/compliance;

Developed reporting and financial tracking tools such as volume, full P&L, cash flows, rolling forecast;

Continually managed/updated the multi-year business case, ensuring key metrics of NPV, IRR, Economic Profit were fully understood;

Led the development of all accounting systems and processes via collaboration with I.T. and Shared Services;

Worked with Legal and Marketing to develop all commercial elements, ensuring strong customer and consumer appeal;

Collaborated extensively with shared services and supply chain management to fully understand cost of goods and return on capital;

Effectively stewarded this initiative via senior management presentations and updates;

Researched and solved many difficult and complex accounting treatment problems;

Led a department of 7 managers and accomplished the following:

Developed the first comprehensive 10-Year Economic Financial model (for 2020 growth vision) in the history of CCNA Foodservice, which became the key tool for managing transformational growth;

Collaborated with all U.S. Foodservice functional management to execute the end-to-end Foodservice and On-Premise annual planning and budgeting process;

Partnered with Marketing to develop and track industry trends, macro/micro KPI’s to drive growth;

Derived/evaluated economic value for many new Foodservice product and equipment innovations, including Coffees, Teas, Smoothies, High Yield Syrups, Coca-Cola Freestyle, potential acquisitions;
