To Whomsoever it may concern

This is a letter of recommendation given for Dr. Sagar Daliya, henceforward referred to as Sagar. Sagar has done his training post diploma Diplomate National Board (DNB) in Orthopaedics with us at the Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray medical college and Dr. R. N. Cooper hospital. This is a two year course which aims at producing a proficient and capable Orthopaedic surgeon by the time he goes up for his qualifying examinations. In the period he has been here, Sagar has been responsible for the management of patients in the outpatient department, emergency services, emergency operative work, managing indoor patients both pre and post operative and the functioning of the elective operation theatre. Sagar quickly reached a level of responsibility and reliability, managing trauma and hemiarthroplasty surgeries independently, also teaching his juniors the operative management of trauma work. Sagar has been a reliable assistant and has been regularly called up to assist in complex trauma work, total arthroplasties and operative spine cases. Sagar has always demonstrated a keen mind, eager to learn and has shown initiative in reading up on procedures, management modalities and the latest literature in the handling of complex or difficult cases. He has always shown a healthy spirit of discussion, actively participating in decision making of the more complex cases that have come our way. His spirit of learning and intelligence was evident in the effortless way he cleared the final DNB theory and practical examinations, an exam considered difficult by many. Sagar has always gotten along well with his colleagues, he has been polite and respectful with his seniors, has been on very good terms with the paramedical staff and has excellent bedside manners with quite a few recovered patients mentioning the kindness and care he has shown them. Sagar’s moral standards have been absolutely beyond reproach. During the difficult times of the COVID 19 pandemic, our Orthopaedic department took the initiative in taking over two COVID 19 isolation wards. In this time, Sagar was one of those who stepped forward along with us in learning how to manage patients with this condition and managing the wards of patients with the COVID-19 disease. I am sorry to see Sagar leave the institute, I understand he would want to in order to better his career and I am sure he would be an asset to whichever institute is lucky enough to take him on.
