Work Area Description:

The Sara-Suri Fields is a Natural Gas Production Facility located in the lower southern areas of Sindh, Pakistan. The Gas Plant basically consists of two Gas Dehydration Plants and has an overall production capacity of 50 mmSCFD and process gas extracted from three Gas wells. The wells were declared as depleted and were undergoing major work-over operations in order to boost the production of the overall production of natural gas. Major work-over operations included different Slick-line, Wire-line as well as Coiled Tubing Jobs. These operations involved heavy machinery and were crane assisted and thus required the practice of extreme caution while working on the well head areas.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct HSE meetings regularly before start-up of daily operations.

Informing personnel possible job related safety hazards in the scheduled daily work.

Issuing job specific PPE’s to the personnel and ensuring proper use of safety gear.

Issuing, logging as well closing the different work permits that are in line with the scheduled activities.

To perform and conduct routine weekly inspections of Fire Fighting pumps as well as Fire Hydrants.

During well work-over operations, ensuring that only concerned personnel enter the work area.

Make use of proper barricading with the help of colour code specific barricading tape in order to define the work area.

Ensuring proper housekeeping after the planned jobs are completed.

Work Area Description:

The Abshain Fiberglass plant was one of the largest Fiberglass plants in Bahrain formed as a joint venture between Saudi Arabia and United States of America with a maximum production capacity 60,000 tons per year. The plants daily fiberglass production was aimed at producing reinforced plastics that were used in Car Dash Boards and other general accessories. The plant was under an expansions phase which basically comprised of the commissioning of a second furnace that would boost its overall production capacity from 30,000 tons per year to 60,000 tons per year. During this phase a lot of mechanical work was being done which required the use of scaffolding and crane work.

Job Responsibilities:

Issuing, recording and closing of different daily work permits. The different work permits included cold, hot, confined space, as well as work at height permits.

To prepare and log daily HSE Audit documents.

Carrying out general safety inspection.

Ensuring the use of proper HSE equipment during job planning and execution during routine/preventive/shutdown and emergency maintenance.

Making a complete Job Safety Analysis in case of difficult and risky work situations and informing the concerned authorities about the possible work hazards.

To maintain the stock level of HSE equipment such as SCABA as well as other consumables.
