Title: Intelligent Lighting System

DESCRIPTION: This project proposed a lighting system that is sensitive to the presence of sunlight. The lights contain a photosensitive element mainly called a LDR that detects the presence of sunlight and triggers the light accordingly. Tools Used:

The tools used are PSIM to simulate the proper function of the circuit and various circuit components mainly capacitors, resistors etc. Team Size: 5

Key Learning: Team Work, How heat sink is made, how to construct a inductor by hand, step by step analysis of a circuit and detailed working of PSIM by hand. Major project:

Title: (1) Optimized control of DSTATCOM.

Description: Development of a Simulink model of a DSTATCOM using current control methods like hysteresis control, sliding mode control, PWM control.. Application of the DSTATCOM has been done in Micro grid consisting of a PV and DFIG wind farm. The PI controller gains has been optimized by meta heuristic algorithms like PSO,GWO etc.

(2) Automatic Generation Control:

Description: The sudden load changes in an interconnected power system gives rise to fluctuations in frequency and power exchange between the two. Various control schemes are used to bring about the AGC in an interconnected power system. The entire system is viewed under deregulated scenario. The controller gains are optimized using evolutionary techniques like GWO, TLBO etc. hybrid optimization techniques are developed to improve the controller performance and to ensure system reliability. RESEARCH INTEREST:
