Salt Lake City Mosquito Abatement
Bilingual Vector Technician
I inspected 18,475 square acres of duck hunting clubs, farmland, and undeveloped industrial land for the presence of mosquito larvae. I would set up maps for areas that had mosquito larvae to be sprayed. My goal was to eliminate the threat of diseases that mosquitoes carry. Another duty I had was to make the Spanish Speaking community aware of the diseases that mosquitoes carry. Two Spanish Speaking stations interviewed me concerning safety measures against mosquito borne diseases. I was always in contact with my coworkers about ways to provide quality service to the public.
I served an LDS mission to Spain. Part of preaching the gospel was helping with service. The type of service that I did was set up English classes once a week for any Spanish natives that were interested in learning English. After my mission I attended a Spanish LDS branch where the service I provided there was English classes. The name of the program was “Daily Dose.”
