RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

STARLIMS Test Specialist, Dovel Technologies, McLean, Virginia, March 2012 – September 2016

Reviewed Instrument Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures at FDA’s production laboratories.

Assessed approximately 1200 FDA SOP’s to determine impact on the STARLIMS system to existing business processes; worked with FDA lab sites to assist in updating SOP’s based on FDA STARLIMS implementation.

Diagrammed the lifecycle of biological and pharmaceutical reference samples and met with FDA Quality managers to discuss how the STARLIMS system would aid the FDA in completing sample collection, analysis, review and work packages.

Developed and executed user test scripts to assess STARLIMS system functionality.

Conducted return on investment (ROI) evaluation of FDA’s STARLIMS system to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of tracking the life cycle of a sample. Conducted a comparative analysis of the current system FACTS, and the replacement system, STARLIMS, to assess key factors such as time reduction and sample classification.

Senior Chemist, Supervisor Quality Control Laboratory United States Pharmacopeia (USP), Rockville, Maryland, May 1997 - November 2007

Advised and assisted reference standard scientists, auditors and clients on site with ongoing investigations. Advised on the scientific adequacy

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE (continued):

and reliability of controlled monograph procedures in the regulated industries for quality assurance and protection of revenue.

Identified the need for and developed new analytical methods to address monograph issues or problems. Planned, organized and conducted studies to meet these needs.

Developed a titration laboratory with duties including leadership oversight, managing external vendors relationships, and supply management.

Collected data and updated information pertaining to various technical libraries of IR spectra. Developed conclusions and executed final actions on formula or sample submissions as supported by the analytical data results and monograph guidelines.

Evaluated the analytical work of peers and junior chemists or technicians and provided training on their technical duties as required.

As a Safety Officer, provided training to all laboratory staff on the proper clean up and handling of controlled substances from documentation to disposal. Maintained safety equipment and tested showers regularly.

Delivered monthly presentations regarding the labs current status of accidents. Established goals for lab safety and personal safety supported by a reward system.

Examined physical and chemical properties of reference standards pertaining to alterations and obliterations to monograph. Performed evaluations on complex samples such as new products that usually required method development or modification.

Conducted analyses to test for purification of controlled drug reference standards and method development for Botanicals. Used a variety of instrumentation including, Thermo gravimetric analyzer/Infrared (TGA/IR), Ultraviolet Spectroscopy (UV-VIS), Dissolution, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Carbon Hydrogen Nitrogen Analyzer (CHN), Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and Karl Fischer Titration.

Performed analytical tests for Reference Standards (RS) evaluations using Moisture Tests, UV Spectroscopy, Dissolution Testing, Carbon Hydrogen Nitrogen analysis and qualitative thin layer chromatography. Analytical test types included physical tests, wet chemistry analyses and instrumental analyses using spectroscopy and chromatography.

Performed method development for incoming Infrared spectra in the QC department and managed customer complaints through resolution.

Chemist, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), Laurel, Maryland, August 1996 - May 1997

Performed characterization and analysis of digested and wastewater samples, such as suspended solids, cakes, lime and sludges by conducting routine laboratory test. Laboratory analyses consisted of percent volatiles testing, pH testing, and organoleptic testing.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE (continued):

Performed caustic testing, specific gravity on alum and lime purity testing.

Evaluated and determined the turbidity of secondary efficiencies and final effluents of raw wastewater samples using scalar instrumentation.

Chemist, W.R Grace, Baltimore, Maryland, August 1995 - June 1996
