Teaching Experience

Teaching is an experience that I enjoy, and I have taught the undergraduate students of the dental school, and in the teaching Hospital I was appointed as a lecturer in the college of Dentistry University of Anbar, Iraq for more than 4 years giving lectures and clinical sessions, and participate exams to graduate the final year students

Administrative /Managerial Experience

-Experience in preparing duty rotas, arranging cover for absent staff and liaison with office ensuring the smooth running of the department.

-Able to organize my own study time without that time interfering with my daily operational effectiveness.

During my work in oral &maxillofacial surgery Clinic, I was responsible about choosing and purchasing the surgical instruments both in theatre and the OPD Clinic

Also I was Head of Dept of Oral &Maxillofacial surgery for more than two years, Assistant Dean for ten months.

Researches:

Microarterial anastomoses a comperative study between end to end anastomoses and end in end anastomoses in the femoral artery of the rabbit April 2000 Supervisor Raja kummoona BDS, FDSRCS, England

An experimental study to compare patency, time consuming and histological differences between these two methods with a follow up clinical and histological examination after two weeks,four weeks and six weeks respectively.

The femoral artery of the rabbit was explored cut and reanasthomosed using end to end

on the right side and end in end in the left side.

The patency rate was 92% in end to end in comparison to 76% in the end in end method.

Dental Experience

From 1994 to 2006, I had my own clinic in Baghdad,Iraq on evening session only from 4 PM

To 9 PM.

The practice was in all fields of Dentistry with the highest percentage of cases are

Oral surgical cases referred from general dental practitioners and other colleagues.

The cases were :

extraction of Impacted wisdom tooth in 45 to 70 cases each year..

Apecectomies of different teeth in 30 to 50 cases annualy

The second field of Dentistry that I have interest in is Endodontics. I have done

More than two thousand cases with a good percent of one visit RCT.

Personal Statement

From the posts and experience I have detailed above I have found the right attitude, dedication, and perseverance to sustain and enjoy the inevitable pressures of career in surgery.

I am also confident working on my own, initiative but also recognize when to call for experienced help. I fully appreciate and understand that teamwork is a very important component in delivering effective patient care. I work well as a member of team and communicate effectively with both patients and colleagues.

I am very methodical and can produce accurate effective management plans, have holistic approach to medicine and appreciate those patients social and psychological state can significantly contribute to their recovery.

I consider myself creative and have the ability to learn and add to different fields of surgery .I have been fortunate to be in a good health during my training.

Reading, especially historic stories, table tennis and swimming
