WORK EXPERIENCE

Senior Mechanical Designer (Piping) Jun.10, 2019- Sept. 04, 2020

Mechanical Group, Jacobs Engineering, Pittsburgh PA

•I was assigned the NUCOR, Compressed Air System (CAS). In 39 days or 1 month and 9 days using the AutoCAD (2017) and Revit (2017) software tools. I completed the following: 1. Assisted in the development of the system P & ID, 2. drafted the system P & ID (AutoCAD 2017), 3. Created the Equipment GA (AutoCAD 2017), Modeled ALL the Equipment in Revit, and Designed and Modeled the Piping System on Revit (2017).

•From: August 5, 2019, To: September 20, 2019 (In Jacobs Greenville, SC office) on assignment. There I was assigned to assist Brent Oldman on the GP – Foley (Osprey Project). On which I completed basic Piping Design and Drafting.

•I returned to Jacobs, Pittsburgh office on September 23, 2019. Where I was assigned, to the API Proposal and Bid Project. Which consisted of a set of General Arrangement (GA) drawings of existing, new and relocated equipment. When I was asked to complete a preliminary piping design of the following: 4” City Water Supply Header CWSH), 4” Cooling Water Return Header (CWRH), 4” Cooling Water Supply (CWS), 4” Cooling Water Return (CWR), 6” Vacuum Blower Supply (VBS), 8” Vacuum Blower Vent (VBV), 2” Vacuum Pump (VP), 10” Vacuum Blower Intake (VBI), 10” Vacuum Blower Header (VBH), 12” Cooling Water Tank Suction Header (CWTSH), Eight Cooling Water Pumps 2 ” Suction and Discharge, and Cooling Water Tower 14” drains. ALL of which; I completed in approximately four weeks on Revit (2017).

•I was assigned the North Star Blue Scope (NSBS) expansion Projects Utility Piping Systems. Which consisted of the following system: Argon (AR), Compression Air System (CAS), Natural Gas (NG), Nitrogen (NI), Non-Portable Water (NPW), Oxygen (O2), and Portable Water (PW). ALL Designed and Modeled on Revit (2018).

•Effectively handled the AP1000 China Project, working on the KT-48 Hot Water Heating System (VYS).

•Modeled all associated equipment including two heat exchangers, two circulating pumps and one chemical additive tank.

•Routed all the associated piping with inline components and worked on the Compressed and Instrument Air System (CAS), the Stand By Diesel Oil Fuel System (DOS), and the Plants Gas System (PGS) in the Rad waste Bldg

•Designed the yard piping of the Potable Water System (PWS), Sanitary Drain System (SDS), Plant Gas System (PGS) and Diesel Fuel off Loading System (DFS) at Plant Vogtle U3 & U4 Nuclear Power Construction Site.

•Supported the rework of several hundred spool pieces of pipe using various software including Plant Design System (PDS) 3D, Smart Plant, Review 3D, Micro Station V8 (2D) and PDS Drawing Manager (3D).

•Worked on the Mascoma project; created the Bio-Kill Skid from conception to drawings, using AutoCAD 2008.

•Utilized P & ID process to arrange 6” x 6” I-beams and 2” x 2” angles into a 52” x 78” frame, supporting one horizontal heat exchanger and two vertical heat exchangers.

•Designed the routing of the 2” main processing line with expansion loops, and the support utility systems piping that include steam supply and return, chilled water supply and return, vents and drains, plant waste water, Filter press and a holding vessel.

•Modeled various equipment including pumps, tanks, and hydraulic power units while working on the Corenso North America, Wisconsin Rapids, WI paper board project (3D Model).

•Routed different piping systems such as the CB53-2331 Stock Chest and CB53-2835 Stock Chest. Extracted Isometric drawings that are generated automatically by Smart Plant 3D.

•Ensured daily imports of parts and material files from a Gmbh (German) linked server, into M2M (Made2 Manage) a production and supply management system

•Designed and maintained the modification of fabrication drawings in standard American format on CATIA V5 and AutoCAD 2000.

•Translated and converted CATIA drawings created in German and ISO 2768 format to iges, dwg, dxf, and pdf; and facilitated different field trip assignments.

•Created a BOM (Bill of Material) for the procurement of parts for systems to be assembled using the PPS (Production Planning System)

•Worked on the adjunct actuator design, following the standards of ANSI and GD & T; designed solutions according to the findings and modified the gears.

• I worked on tank farms and coating Kitchens. Working from P & ID’s, I completed loop piping for the deliteur coater mixing system, piping of tank farms which included; pump suction and discharge, tank inlet and outlet nozzles and pipe bridge loop piping to and from the coating mixing Kitchen. I completed the design and layout of piping systems and equipment involved in a coating Kitchen, tank farm and final station, for the following companies; Westvaco Corp., Miramichi Pulp and Paper Inc., International Paper, Federal Paper Board Co. Inc. and Appleton Paper Inc.

FIELD TRIPS

An initial visit to the customer’s office and facility for an informal meeting, to address all project objectives and concerns. Tour their manufacturing facility and survey the work or installation area. If applicable created sketches and took measurements for AsBuilt drawings and retrofits drawings per scope of work.
