August 27, 2016 to Jan 29, 2021 - Promoted as Director of Safety and Security for Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel - The largest unionized hotel in the Washington, DC. o Served in the capacity of Director of Safety and Security, responsible for the equal dissemination of designated assignments within the Safety and Security department. Scope of responsibility includes the role of department head overseeing the supervision of security staff members. Engaged in vital role of orientation of new associates regarding OSHA regulations and LSOP for property.

o Performed mock drills involving various emergency scenarios. Conducted training classes on security rules, regulations, policy, procedure and emergency evacuations of property. Additional responsibility for the overall compliance of security staff with the goal of the department in conjunction with the philosophy of Marriott International as it relates to the hospitality industry. o Guaranteed financial success of our hotel through an in-depth and comprehensive employee accident prevention program (Worker Compensation) in conjunction with OSHA rules, regulations, and polices.

June 14, 2014 to August 2016 - Promoted as Director of Safety and Security for Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel

Developed and implemented trainings on Emergency Plans, with emphasis on terrorism attacks, aimed at instilling in every associate a sense of partnership with the Safety and Security Department in the execution of safety and security measures at the hotel. The next phase of the training was to build on this and make them feel as if they were deputized LPOs, further extending this into their families and communities. In this position, there was an established working relationship with the FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Security, and Local Police to serve as one of the pilot sites for Pandemic Emergency Medical Dispensing Center Training.

Provided strategic direction and fostered vital relationships with government law enforcement agencies

(State department/ Federal – USSS) as well as Dignitary Protection Details for Domestic and International high profile “Head of States” and their delegations, including President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden (2x).

August 15, 2009 to 2014 - Promoted as Multi-Property Director of Safety and Security for Washington Marriott and Renaissance Washington DC DuPont Circle Hotel. Was ranked as # 1 in Safety and Security Consistency Review in the Eastern Region. August 16, 2007 to 2009 - Appointed as Cluster Director of Safety and Security of Westfield Marriott Conference Center, Dulles Airport Marriott, and Washington Dulles Marriott Suites Developed and Implemented Emergency Plans that came in handy in handling the International Multi- Agency coordination of the Bilderberg International Summit involving the FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Security, Local Police, and the various Security Details of Presidents, Kings and Queens, Heads of States, dignitaries, and High-Profile Personalities. All participants in securing the said event were one in saying it was a “job well done!” Also, in this capacity, experienced having more than 400 guests affected by the Norovirus outbreak, but was allowed to operate by the Local Health Agency, which viewed our emergency plan and training as “a thousand times better” than what they had, and declared the plan as a model in the area.

October 2, 2005 to 2007- Promoted as the Director of Safety and Security with Washington Marriott Georgetown

Developed and implemented Emergency Plans / Departmental emergency kits with trainings focused on good practices. This approach increased our GSS feeling of safety and security from 75 % to 95 %. 2004 to 2005- Promoted as the Multiple Property Director of Safety and Security for Washington Dulles Marriott Airport and Washington Dulles Suites.

This marked my first foray in multiple property management and the development of a full-scale emergency plan and training, given the proximity of the properties to the Dulles International Airport. A fully involved relationship with the local police resulted in instantaneous reaction times to emergencies or potential emergencies at said properties.

2000 to 2004 - Promoted as Director of Safety and Security at the Georgetown University Marriott Conference Hotel

Developed and implemented a two-pronged plan for the Student Population and Hotel Guests - Dual clientele. A balanced public safety plan was instituted in the area involving the local police and was appreciated as well by the local population for their inclusion in the plan. 1997 to 2000 - Promoted as Safety and Security Supervisor at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis International - Atlanta, GA

Was mentored by Eric Tolson Regional Director of Safety and Security and had the opportunity to work with him in the sting operation of suspicious elements in the area culminating in the arrest and detention of more than 100 people without any legal or civil consequence to the hotel. March 24, 1995 – Hired as a Safety and Security officer at the Marriott Orlando Center - Orlando, Florida Trained and dubbed as the “Hospitality King”.
