Performed a variety of bench and assembly operations on components or sub-assemblies. Assemble assemblies and complete items by filing, scraping, grinding, aligning, adjusting or otherwise working and mating the parts until the mechanism functions properly and the assembly is completed in accordance with specifications. Uses drill press to drill, ream and tap on jobs in which close tolerances are required. CNC Milling, boring and honing diesel locomotive steel engine cylinder liners, heads. Insured that dimensions met those prescribed by mylar and engineering drawings or other shop instructions using measuring instruments such as dial calipers, height gauges and thread gauges. Cleaned and lubed threads. Installed studs with hydraulic stud driver to proper torque. Installation of diesel cylinder heads and components such as valves, valve springs and injectors. Computer Controlled Laser Heat Treat Machine for heat treating liners post machining services. Lens cleaning and changing liquid nitrogen tanks.Mazak HMC-Horizontal Milling Machine-Parts for milling +/- .003 tolerances. Replaced carbide inserts. Set up Mazak utilizing a crane to load and unload liners into machine, changing carbide inserts and monitoring machine throughout milling process. Moved crane in and out of the Mazak HMC. Milled outside and inside, top and bottom of cylinder surfaces. Used height gauges and go/no go gauges. Non CNC Hone: Hones cylinder bores in final dimension and surface finish. Cleaned and inspected using granite table, bore dial gauge and profilometer. Final pressure check.

Operated 5 different brake presses ranging from 2-8 feet. CNC Accupress 8ft. brake press. CNC Trumpf 8ft brake press. 3 unknown models ranging in length from 2-8ft. Brake formed aircraft grade sheet metal made of aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, inconel, Ti-6-4 Titanium with hot forming. Programming for multiple setups and tooling for single or multiple parts. Auto independent backstops. CNC Accupress 4-8' CNC machine-foot switch controlled. Numeric computer interface for tooling setup. 2-8' non CNC brake presses. Utilized calipers tooling guages for setups. Selected and installed corresponding dies for proper radii and angle dimensions and bend deductions. 4-8' Pre CNC bios brakes. Basic programming for tooling setup. Checked and straightened parts: .010”-.280” thickness =/- 1/2" angle or minute. Drilled and reamed holes. 4' and 8" hydraulic shear for sheet metal-.250" using radius, flat, height gauges, calipers, micrometers and granite surface table.

Selected by supervisors to train personnel on CNC brake press machines and all machines in the machining processes available

Formed complex parts requiring over 12 bends and various radii, with linear and radii tolerances at a maximum of .030” to a minimum of -001”, angle tolerances at a minimum of degree. Die cleaning and prep for hot forming processes. Extensive experience using digital/dial/venier calipers, micrometers, radii gauges, depth gauges, scales, etc. Conducted first piece sheet metal inspections by measuring with hand calipers and micrometers which determined flange length. Additional inspections with protractor to determine flange angle. These components would be used in larger assemblies of structural aircraft components and airframe details supplied to major aerospace manufacturers such as Bell, Boeing, Gulfstream, Lockheed, Sikorsky, Spirit, TIG-Hitco and Vaught.

Assembled helicopter titanium firewalls requiring blind and solid rivets using pneumatic hand squeezers, C-frame and/or bucking, application of adhesives and sealants, spot welding, hand forming, drilling/reaming, cutting/grinding/filing, stretching and shrinking.

Assembled parts (brackets, firewalls, skins, rotor tip-caps, titanium floor supports, enclosures) on valuable, complex assemblies (longerons, exhaust ducts, chaff dispensers, Hellfire computer module racks, avionic system racks, bulkheads, FLIR mounts, etc.) including aluminum and inconel exhaust ducts for Bell and Sikorsky helicopters.

Tig welded titanium, stainless steel, and inconel. Thicknesses ranging from .025” -.080”. Experience with arc welding mild steel, thicknesses ranging from ”-3/8”
