Position: Maintenance and Production Manager
Prochem (Private) Limited is one of the major manufacturer and distributor of consumer and personal care products in Zimbabwe. The company operates automated net-weight and flow meter fillers together with capping, labelling and shrink-wrapping machines, the high speed machines are an addition to the manually operated ones. Manufacturing is done in oil and water heated counter rotating manufacturing vessels which have carrying capacities ranging from 2 to 5 tonnes. The heating water is supplied from boilers while the oil jacked manufacturing vessels have their oil heated through the use of immersion electric heaters. The plant runs 24/7 and has an average output capacity of 660 metric tonnes of production per month.
Duties:
Planning, executing, coordinating and supervising all activities under the business functions, comprising: asset and facility care, production, project management, safety, health and environment, new asset procurement and critical spares inventory management
Developing and implementing departments budgets and budgetary control measures
Identifying, developing and nurturing human talent
Development and implementation of all technical programs to ensure optimum plant availability
Developing and implementing new methods and polices to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop and maintain technical department performance and admin reporting systems
Setting up and implementation of ISO Quality Standards 3

2. Company: Starafrica Corporation t/a Arthur Garden Engineering Duration: May 2005 to Feb 2010
Position: Technical Manager
Arthur Garden Engineering (AG) was a strategic business unit of Starafrica Corporation, a diversified conglomerate with divisions which included food, industrial and properties. AG was the engineering business unit in the Industrial divisions. Its core responsibility were to carry out all the major maintenance and project work within the group companies which included Gold Star Sugars, the largest sugar refinery company in Zimbabwe, High-field Bag and Poly-film, producers of Polypropylene, Polythene and other plastic bags. Other companies serviced within the group were Marathon Tyres, Country Choice Foods and Blue Star Transport. In addition to internal work, AG also carried out plant refurbishments and material handling design, refurbishment and installation projects, for several mining companies in Zimbabwe, which included Bindura Trojen Mine, Ashanti Gold mine and Fredda Rebecca Mine.
