3. Role played during the COVID-19 pandemic

● The n-Coronavirus pandemic that has shook the world and continues to do so, came as a major challenge in my career. At its peak the pandemic forced us to close down our OT and stop routine work as our hospital got converted into a COVID care facility.

● I was responsible for managing COVID-19 patients in various wards and ICU. Learnt and practised basic management protocols of moderate to severely ill COVID-19 patients. Despite the risks, I was always eager to care for these patients and was a part of developing SOPs to manage them keeping safety of HCWs in mind.

● During my routine clinical work, I became part of a ground breaking research to evaluate SARS- CoV-2 in tear films of admitted COVID patients. The findings were significant and the pilot study has been published in Ophthalmology.

● After completing the pilot study, I became involved in a subsequent study based on quantitative evaluation of SARS-CoV-2 in tear film, funded by WHO. The study has been completed successfully and I feel very satisfied with my quality of work and with our collaboration with WHO. The paper has been accepted for publication in Ocular Immunology and Inflammation. PUBLICATIONS
